When I saw Thiam in the High Jump I had a feeling she was going to win gold, she was on fire for the whole two days.
We have to stop hyping KJT, she will not win anything when she is so weak in the throwing events, mentally she is also lacking a little (despite her good high jump), she can jump nealy 50cm's further in the long jump but in the last two championships in has cost her dearly. (3 fouls, and 3 sub par jumps)
KJT cannot afford to be so poor in two of the seven events. As NLA alluded to, it is hard to make you run much faster but she should be able to improve shot and javelin through technical training.
As soppy as it sounds, I thought the 'sisterhood' shown by the heptathletes as they joined hands and raised them to the crowd at the finale of the competition was quite moving. Then they were hugging and kissing, and that was also moving in a different way and my thoughts debased the whole thing.
