Always enjoyed being on here and the people. Now more than ever its important because it's the only link I really have to my club now that those dickheads have taken it over.
Here's to many more years and many more happy memories
A truly incredible forum in all honesty for the sheer volume, variety and (relative) quality of discussion.
I don't think you'd have a chance in hell of finding a comparable football forum that offers so much.
It says a lot (maybe about me) that hardly a day has gone past when I don't look on here and most days it's a scary amount of time. I'm actually slightly concerned that the blame for Maidstone's appearance in the above stats may lie at my door!
Maybe the ex who i was in Lanzarote with in Sept 2006 (I think) was justified in giving me jip for leaving the sunbeds to go and (pay to) get my Charlton life fix in the hotel internet room most days. In my defence I'm sure something major had recently happened so I was glued more than usual.
Bizarrely despite nearly 10 years lurking (mainly) and contributing I think I have only met one or two people off here (by accident I may add - I don't usually arrange to meet strange men online) and would not know what any member looked like if I saw them in the street.
Keep up the good work chaps - you'd be surprised how regular and important a part of all our lives this site has become.
I've been a member of CL since 2006 I believe. dave2l got me involved and we pretty much failed our ICT gscs because we spent too much time on this forum and didn't do enough work!!
I'd like to thank charltonlife from stopping me from becoming a nerd. Due to my school work neglect and distraction I'm now a cool person that has no money.
Cheers.
In 10 years il be 36.
Charlton will be......a club that is alive and well.
Can't believe I missed that as well. Not surprised though. Interesting that he planted the seed (troll that he is) and then disappeared when it started heating up.
Great site, by the way. Lots of drama of course but I guess that's what makes it the addicting site that it is.
I tried to join in 2012 and I didn't get 'approved' or whatever it was. Very glad I finally did in 2014 although I wish I'd found it sooner then I wouldn't be stuck with Leeds in my username.
For the first seven years @oohaahmortimer, I wanted to throttle you! The last three, I feel we're like long lost blood brothers that have never met. Not sure whether it's you or I that has changed!!!
Ha ha Lookout I've always had a downer on Charlton expecting the worse and your positiveness was the ying to my yang as the Charlton years flew by eventually Roland arrived and broke your spirit booooo Let's hope shortly as we're winning promotion to the Premiership under new owners with SCP as manager I'm miserably pronouncing we'll get relegated next season and boiling your blood again ;-)
@AFKABartram excellent opening post and happy birthday to Charlton lIfe!
You've highlighted some wonderful elements of this forum allow me to highlight a few more.
This forum has such a heart that football differences and different personalities are always put aside when serious issues arise and when someone needs genuine help and advice. The autism thread, the "hardest decision" thread the kidney donar one, the cancer ones and so many more have been super inspirational and bought out the good sides of everyone, the advice not only what I've received but many others has been 2nd to none and the help and support offered has been overwhelming.
My good friends Daughter Frankie Rose got so much support from people on here that I can't thank you enough, it's thanks to people like you guys that this little girl who has just turned 9 actually has a future.
This forum has done so much for charity it deserves a pride of Britain award.
Sponsoring the Upbeats is just about the coolest thing EVER!
We've had a pretty successful poker league (which will be back soon) the CAFC fans v Brighton game was memorable and we won. We've had a chess league too and beat the Westham fans.
Happy birthday to Charlton Life, more than just a forum it's a habit, a hobbie, an addiction and a community.
Congrats on the 10 year anniversary!! Keep up the good work you are doing to keep this great forum going. I wonder what the next 10 years will bring us?
Congrats and thank you guys. I only joined in 2007 which is probably not long since we got our first season ticket. I am sure this site has made me feel more connected to Charlton. Don't agree with everything and everybody but often LOL.
Great work done and money raised for for many good causes
Having a split personality CL comes in very handy. The twat side of me can come on here and the normal s..i..d... hold on, I think that's the wrong way around!
Can't believe it's been 10 years! So much has happened Charlton related and non Charlton related in that time.
So much for you to be proud of that wouldn't have happened had it not been for this site. Money for good causes, humour during dire situations, knowledge and friendships, help and support.
Every time something happens in the world I want to know about or learn about I visit this site before I go on to Twitter or the BBC news/sport website! Rarely lets me down!

Because Roland Duchatelet probably won't be.
I'm a nice person.
A supposed Sheffield Utd fan came on here complaining that Simon Church had called his son four-eyes after the cup quarter final.
He got plenty of pelters and tucked away half way down the first page was @DaveMehmet 's response: "have you tried laser surgery?"

Here's to the next 10!
It's under a year since I joined, but would not miss a day now
wastedspent a 1/4 of my life since then reading and posting shit (not to KM) on this site .As someone who is a hermit and hates people some of the wrong opinions and views expressed on here remind me why I stay indoors a lot .
Some good people, as well , that make me think humanity isn't as bad as my pessimistic outlook on it really is .
Here's to the next ten years of waffle
2% nuts 98% love you man
Lots of hard work in the past 10 years to keep this going
Let's hope shortly as we're winning promotion to the Premiership under new owners with SCP as manager I'm miserably pronouncing we'll get relegated next season and boiling your blood again ;-)
