Thanks all for making those of us far afield feel like we're at home in some way. I miss the Valley on a Saturday or a cold Tuesday night, but I can always get a taste of it on CL. Here's to the next 10and many more. COYR
Valley Gary just completely floored and baffled by what viewfinder was going on about. "I coach kids near Dartford?...no I don't you absolute freak."
I forgot Viewfinder's post on Harvey's Gardener further up on the same page.
"And you actually imagine you are the father of Callum Harriott and Joe Piggott"
This little exchange had me chuckling where ironically HG is accused of knowing sweet FA about football and it's based on where he resides; VF - 'Harveys Gardener: You are an apologist. It's comical that you apparently live next door to The Valley - yet you don't understand the slightest thing about football.
HG - Not an apologist, won't apologise for thinking you're a to$$er. I have always lived miles from the Valley (Surrey/Berks) and never played organised football but not impressed with your supposed expertise.
Happy birthday. One of those who have been here from very early on. Enjoyed writing some articles way back when. Have drifted away from both writing and all thing Charlton for a career change (just qualified as a paramedic) and a game change to play rugby. Still dip in here to see what is happening in se7, and occasionally comment.
The fact that as a site we did such good work raising money for good causes is great. Alongside that the times we all come together to provide help and advice on matters of health, heart and happiness make me realise that this is a community that is a little more than the average football site.
I've been working away all week and only just caught up with this thread. Firstly well done to @AFKABartram and @LoOkOuT on a very successful forum celebrating 10 years of diverse, thought provoking and also helpful discussions. The money raised, not just for the Upbeats, but also for Mrs RM and myself on behalf of the British Heart Foundation and of course there are many more causes we have supported. There have been times this forum has seen its fair share of WUM's, and there have been arguments and vitriol between posters, but in the main healthy debate from all points of view has been interesting to read and take part in. On a personal note this forum has helped me through difficult and scary times - my heart failure and the time I was unemployed and felt I was on the scrapheap - you gave me the strength to fight back. Finally completing the match threads for the last 5 seasons (I think) keeps me part of the CAFC community and is my way of playing a full part as best as I can Happy birthday Charlton Life, here's to the next 10 years.

The Witton Albion/Northwich Vics thread was a good 'un.
