If anyone wants to do a study about how football fans can create a real community, which unites people whose paths otherwise wouldn't cross, they won't find a better example than CL. The threads where people so willingly help out their fellow Addicks are amazing. CL helped me get my Mum's blue badge back, and comforted and supported my wife and I when our beloved Labbie fell ill and passed away.
And let's not be shy about saying this, it is only possible because AFKA and Lookie have done a magnificent job in moderating this site, it is as it is because of them. You should both be very proud, guys, although I am sure the burden on you has been tough. I am sure a lot of us would be very ready to contribute financially if that could help you feel happy to carry on, because boy, do we need you.
I am quite sure too, as was said earlier, that CARD is only strong because of CL. it means that CL has never been more important than it is now. And even though we fall out over politics and stuff CL brings us back together at the important times and reminds us that we are one tribe, made up of people with many different backgrounds, experiences and skills, but all with Charlton in our blood. We will prevail over the people who harm our club if we stick together and work together , and this is the place which will make that happen.
Those figures for the Czech Republic are bloody embarrassing though ...:-)23 -

Just to say, I never post but have always followed. I'm a season ticket holder and proudly keep the faith. Congratulations to all involved with Charlton Life. It is the number one website I go to (after BBC, Sky!) to get a true fan's perspective. Keep it going, you 'guys' write the best sh!t. I laugh with you, I've cried with you, but best of all I'm Charlton with you. (Tattoo, old season tickets and Woolwich shirt photos to follow). Thank you.9

I've been here from the startish.
It saved my sanity until I got a job which meant I had to work more lol
I have met some amazing people and one I'd rather never met again.
It meant I witnessed 'that' goal at the Valley in person as well as being shown it copious amounts since (don't blame you Bruv).
And I got to sit and talk to a young Jonjo about his hopes and dreams.
But the highlight for me?
The Upbeats. What an absolute honour being able to meet them. So pleased they've gone from strength to strength.

This site has been great for me living the other side of the world. I've been a Charlton fan since 1947, I was 10 years old and thought it would be great to support the team that won the cup. In 1970 I came to Australia and it was very tough keeping in touch, no internet of course and football was an emerging sport here and consequently news was scarce. I found CL about 9 years ago and it has been my Go To site ever since. The range of topics is amazing and its my first port of call each day. Thanks guys for helping to keep an old man in touch. Very much appreciated16

Fantastic site, been a member for what seems like forever (well I lived in Eltham when I joined!!) and there's not been a single day that I don't look on here...plenty of highlights and plenty of proper laugh out loud threads.
The countdown one will always hold a special place for me

I'm a relatively newcomer, 4 years and counting, thanks to my son suggesting I join up. I've only met a couple of you in the flesh but feel as if I know many more having exchanged a few PMs.
It's great to reminisce with some of the oldies and have a bit of banter with the young upstarts, which is anyone aged under 50 because I'm old enough to be your Dad. I must however apologise to those who find my overuse of the winky smiley emoji annoying, I'll try and keep it more under control from now on 4 -

I have a shirt signed by all the Upbeats on my wall and it's one of my most favourite possessions. The Looky Likies were brilliant. I can remember one of @Charltonparklane doing a funny jump from the charity game, and another cracker of @T.C.E and a Masterchef winner
