He must feel frustrated after repeatedly getting them promoted and then not being backed. They lost their two best players to Sheff Weds in the summer because they wouldn’t pay them more, and then they’ve got Barlaser, Ogbene and Wiles all out of contract at the end of this season. All three are Champ standard and would be stupid to not go and earn a lot more elsewhere.
The club have reached their ceiling under the current Chairman as the owner won’t put any more money in. I can see why Warne would want a move to a club with a lot more ambition.
I think Rosenior is highly rated as a coach but possibly considered as lacking the managerial experience to get them straight back up. Derby do not appear to have paid him off (yet) which suggests that he might be staying on as either head coach or assistant manager.
Pardew got a new job in Greece after only lasting a few weeks in his last job.
I’m in Greece atm, I’ll keep an eye out for his big conk
Just caught up on this thread, sitting around a pool in Kefalonia, talking to a Greek lad about Gus Poyet and his son Diego who have the national side playing well.
Slaven Bilic was contacted in the summer about the Charlton job.
True
Bilic is a top quality Manager. Look at what happened to WBA when they panicked and sacked him. Relegated and his successors have now won 24 out of 86 matches since he left. They now sit in 21st place in the Championship with the dinosaur that is Steve Bruce in charge. They might have gone down under Bilic anyway but he had a proven record of promotion with them and like Burnley (Dyche) and Norwich (Farke) did when they stuck with their Managers, would have had a better chance of coming back up at the first time of asking.
Difficult not to jump at such an opportunity from Edwards' point of view, but given their history he cant be surprised
I thought it was a poor decision on his part taking the Watford job but I suppose the more you think about it the more it becomes kind of rational.
He probably tripled his money at least going to Watford and now has a big juicy pay off for a few months of work.
Watford are universally regarded as a bit of a joke in terms of their hiring and firing so his reputation isn't really damaged that much given he was only there a few games.
He will walk into another League One job no doubt about it. Given how Foreat Green have started the season I wouldn't even be surprised if he ended up back there

Colchester United technical director and former boss Steve Ball will lead an interim management team following the sacking of head coach Wayne Brown.
Ball will be assisted by head of recruitment Ross Embleton and under-18s coach Elliot Ward until the League Two U's appoint a new head coach.
Brown was sacked on Sunday after a run of five defeats in their opening nine games of the season.
Ball left as U's boss in February 2021 after 13 games without a win.
He re-joined the club as technical director this summer but has told the club he is not interested in taking permanent charge for a second time.

Liam Rosenior relived of duties at Derby , seen a few rumours Paul Warne is going to take over there and leave Rotherham
No guarantee Derby will go up this season either
BBC confirming the Warne move is likely to happen
Very surprised he's decided to leave Rotherham. Derby must have thrown a hell of a lot of money at him.

Paul Warne joins Derby , 4 year deal
Rob Edwards sacked and they're set to appoint Slaven Bilic.
If you're not going to give a younger coach time to change things, then why go down that route? Bilic was available in the summer
