Managerial sackings, comings and goings

I can see a lot of 'asset stripping' of Millers players when Warne gets to Derbykillerandflash said:0 -
I think Rosenior is highly rated as a coach but possibly considered as lacking the managerial experience to get them straight back up. Derby do not appear to have paid him off (yet) which suggests that he might be staying on as either head coach or assistant manager.0

I certainly hope so. Would be one less team to worry about this season.eaststandmike said:

Very surprised he's decided to leave Rotherham. Derby must have thrown a hell of a lot of money at him.

Paul Warne joins Derby , 4 year deal0 -
Did not expect to see Paul Warne at Derby. That should be a good appointment for them.0

Just caught up on this thread, sitting around a pool in Kefalonia, talking to a Greek lad about Gus Poyet and his son Diego who have the national side playing well.Fumbluff said:

The managerial merry-go-round continues at Watford.
Rob Edwards sacked and they're set to appoint Slaven Bilic.

That feels incredibly incredibly harsh on Rob Edwards1
-
Wow. Not shocked because it's Watford, but that's ridiculously harsh.
If you're not going to give a younger coach time to change things, then why go down that route? Bilic was available in the summer1 -

Difficult not to jump at such an opportunity from Edwards' point of view, but given their history he cant be surprised0 -
Slaven Bilic was contacted in the summer about the Charlton job.
True3 -
Bilic is a top quality Manager. Look at what happened to WBA when they panicked and sacked him. Relegated and his successors have now won 24 out of 86 matches since he left. They now sit in 21st place in the Championship with the dinosaur that is Steve Bruce in charge. They might have gone down under Bilic anyway but he had a proven record of promotion with them and like Burnley (Dyche) and Norwich (Farke) did when they stuck with their Managers, would have had a better chance of coming back up at the first time of asking.Henry Irving said:Slaven Bilic was contacted in the summer about the Charlton job.

I said Rob Edwards would last only one season; I was right as Watford sacked him after the summer season finished and 11 games.

I thought it was a poor decision on his part taking the Watford job but I suppose the more you think about it the more it becomes kind of rational.ForeverAddickted said:

He probably tripled his money at least going to Watford and now has a big juicy pay off for a few months of work.
Watford are universally regarded as a bit of a joke in terms of their hiring and firing so his reputation isn't really damaged that much given he was only there a few games.
He will walk into another League One job no doubt about it. Given how Foreat Green have started the season I wouldn't even be surprised if he ended up back there2 -

I was surprised Watford went for him, especially with the way FGR limped over the line in the last few weeks1

Roger Johnson, yes that Roger Johnson, has been appointed manager of Brackley Town. With the former Irish international Stephen Ward as his assistant, that's a lot of high level experience for a NLN club0 -
Hull City have sacked head coach Shota Arveladze after a run of four successive defeats.
The decision was announced just hours before the Tigers play Luton Town, with Andy Dawson named interim head coach.

Weird timing, to have a 2 week international break, and then sack your manager hours before your next game!clive said:Hull City have sacked head coach Shota Arveladze after a run of four successive defeats.

They've had a bad run of form, but with 11 points are above West Brom. How Bruce still has that job is a mystery3 -
League Two strugglers Colchester United have appointed Matt Bloomfield as their new head coach, replacing Wayne Brown.
The 38-year-old has left his role as Wycombe's first-team coach to take his first managerial job with the U's.
