Roger Johnson, yes that Roger Johnson, has been appointed manager of Brackley Town. With the former Irish international Stephen Ward as his assistant, that's a lot of high level experience for a NLN club

Hull City have sacked head coach Shota Arveladze after a run of four successive defeats.
The decision was announced just hours before the Tigers play Luton Town, with Andy Dawson named interim head coach.

Weird timing, to have a 2 week international break, and then sack your manager hours before your next game!

They've had a bad run of form, but with 11 points are above West Brom. How Bruce still has that job is a mystery

League Two strugglers Colchester United have appointed Matt Bloomfield as their new head coach, replacing Wayne Brown.

The 38-year-old has left his role as Wycombe's first-team coach to take his first managerial job with the U's.

A big move for Bloomfield, who's been at Wycombe as player and coach since 2003.

He's from Suffolk, so that might be a factor too, though you imagine that if he does well he'd love to return to Wycombe if Ainsworth leaves

I wasn't suggesting that Colchester was in Suffolk  :D

Merely pointing out that for someone who came through the ranks at Ipswich, that Colchester is very near home!

I wrote a "War and Peace" as to why Matt Taylor should be offered the job prior to Garner getting it and backed him with the bookies accordingly. I'm not inclined to blame Garner yet for the position we are in because he can only work with the tools he is given and with that in mind I'm not sure that Taylor would have done much better. But it will be good to see how Taylor does be it if he stays at Exeter and in comparison to us or if he takes the Rotherham job.

This has to be Bruce's last managerial job surely.

A 28% win record at Newcastle, and after yesterday he's now on 26% at West Brom.

Fortunately for him, someone will give him a job

4th bottom in a big club on parachute payments in the Championship is appalling. I'm amazed he wasn't fired last night.

I made a bet with myself that Sean Dyche would 'soon' replace Bruce at WBA .. written somewhere on another post

Yes, but when did a NON player get us promoted ?

Back to Sir Lennie in 1985. Since then 4 promotions (2 by Curbs) all overseen by ex players.

Could see Dychey getting the Villa or Forest job i, although Gerrard seems to have turned a corner for the moment. Cooper could be gone shortly after all the money they spent

Slaven Bilic was contacted in the summer about the Charlton job.

    True
Bilic is a top quality Manager. Look at what happened to WBA when they panicked and sacked him. Relegated and his successors have now won 24 out of 86 matches since he left. They now sit in 21st place in the Championship with the dinosaur that is Steve Bruce in charge. They might have gone down under Bilic anyway but he had a proven record of promotion with them and like Burnley (Dyche) and Norwich (Farke) did when they stuck with their Managers, would have had a better chance of coming back up at the first time of asking.

So West Brom lose again under Bruce and are stuck in 21st place and only outside the relegation zone on goal difference. Watford, meanwhile, in their first game under Billic, are demolishing Stoke away 4-0 but it should be even more. You reap what you sow.
