Steve Bruce sacked. Indeed the only surprise is that he lasted so long
Can't see him getting another job.
Took over West Brom last season when they were 5th, they ended up 10th. Followed it up with 11 points from 13 games this season. 25% win record in his time there.
Great player though and over 1k games as a manager is a record anyone would be proud of.

You'd think you'd get to a point where it's just not worth the hassle and stress.
He's 61, presumably very comfortable financially, and probably would only get a lower Championship job now.
Better off sticking to a bit of punditry now surely?
They spent £145m. Has a club that is going up to the top flight for the first time in over a decade ever spent anything like that? No wonder the owner is looking to sack someone!!!

Imagine how much money agents made out of Forest this year….

Surely he signs off on the deals though? They didn't spend it without him knowing.
Personally i think they actually signed some decent players but i'd say there are 2 problems.
1) They went crazy and signed too many players. You can't expect 22 new signings (or however many it was) to gel immediately. 2) despite signing a lot of players their 2 centre backs (Cook and McKenna) were with them last year and are basically Championship level. If you want to stay up, you need a solid defence.

Of course he did but then he probably trusts them to know what they are doing and if they don't then there is only one outcome. I agree that it was too many but there could be another reason why those two were sacked - what need is there for a Head of Recruitment and Head Scout when you've signed 22 players!!!
West Brom to make official approach for Millwall manager Gary Rowett tomorrow. Did not see that coming at all. Neither did West bron fans by the look of it.
We're a steady(ish) ship but play the most turgid football. We have a squad capable of better but Rowett is the most reactive manager I've ever known us to have. We only ever start playing after we've conceded as we're set up to not lose.
Better the devil you know and all that, but if it meant we'd actually start letting the players play and express themselves a bit more then I'm all for him going.

Crawley Town have sacked manager Kevin Betsy after four months in charge, with the club bottom of League Two.
The former Arsenal Under-23s boss won only one of his 12 league games in charge, and his assistant Dan Micciche has also left the club.

Steve Claridge sacked after seven years at Salisbury.
Doncaster Rovers have sacked manager Gary McSheffrey, with the club 12th in League Two.
McSheffrey, 40, has been dismissed after a run of seven points from eight games, having also been in charge as the club were relegated last season.
