Just read that Jody Morris (Chelsea U18s) will be his Assistant Manager

Thats a very inexperienced double act... I know we've just had Bowyer and Jackson yet the Championship is a lot harder than League One

sacked a club legend & ex-player in Rowett & replaced by an ex Prem player who has never managed a club & wouldn't know the Championship if it bit him on his arse. I bet the Rams fans are pleased.
Derby never sacked Gary Rowett. He asked to speak to Stoke when the vacancy came up and he walked when he was offered the job.

Once a manager asks to speak to another club he is as good as gone anyway so get rid.
  • Marco Silva confirmed as the new Everton manager.

Lampard confirmed as the new Derby manager.

Laurent Blanc has leaped ahead of Maurizio Sarri in the race to replace Antonio Conte as Chelsea boss.

Former France and Paris Saint-Germain chief Blanc is now the new front runner for the role after the Blues developed cold feet over Sarri’s controversial past.

The Chelsea hierarchy have become aware of Sarri’s homophobic row with new Italy boss - and ex-Manchester City manager - Roberto Mancini.

Sarri, who left Napoli last week, clashed with then-Inter boss Mancini during a Coppa Italia tie last season.

A furious Mancini revealed afterwards: "The confrontation on the touchline? You have to ask Sarri about that.

“He is a racist. People like him do not belong in football. He used racist words.

“I stood up to ask about the five minutes being added on and Sarri shouted ‘poof’ and ‘faggot’ at me. I would be proud to be that if he is what’s considered a man.”

Chelsea have made zero tolerance of racism, sexism and homophobia a major club commitment in recent seasons.

That has seen interest in the 60-year-old Sarri cool and given Blanc the chance to rise up the list.

Strange if they go for Blanc. Was impressive at Bordeaux and won 11 trophies in 3 seasons at PSG but has been out of management for 2 seasons, so why has no one else gone for him?
I thought Chelsea would've gone for Luis Enrique.

What, starting once they'd paid off Eva Carneiro and John Terry had left?

"We don't allow racism, sexism or homophobia... starting... Wait, Graham Rix isn't still here is he? No? Good. Starting... NOW!"

"Laurent Blanc prime candidate for Chelsea job with Avram Grant in running if search for new boss remains a struggle"

I would love it if Chelsea sack Conte only to get Avram Grant back in.

  • Apparently Leeds are going after Marcelo Bielsa
  • Bet Heckingbottom is regretting leaving Barnsley for Leeds, cant believe he has been sacked already

  • 6 years 14 managers(if you count all 4 of Redfearns times)
  • Bet Heckingbottom is regretting leaving Barnsley for Leeds, cant believe he has been sacked already

I thought he'd be a good appointment for Leeds... Did really well to get Barnsley promoted in the first place and was just about keeping them in the League despite losing almost all their key players.

The problem for Leeds was the fact they took so long to sell Chris Wood and then didnt replace him

Might be top eight being English soon...
  • Didnt realise yet Shrewsbury have appointed John Askey as Manager

Might not be the worst appointment for them actually seeing that he'd just gotten promotion with Macclesfield
  • Jurgen Klopp in the top 15, wow. That's ridiculous given how long he's been there

Did not know it was April 1st
  • Interesting that of the longest serving managers, you could definitely say most of the clubs are over-achieving, even if its just the likes of Rochdale hanging on in L1.
  • Former Addick Matt Addick now manager of Exeter.

Wonder if he'll be asking for Recco on loan?

You'd expect that to be the case though surely? They are doing well so have been kept on? Haven't been poached I guess though.
