I bet CARD are divided and arguing amoungst themselves with the Slade news.
The CARD protest vote was won by one person in favour for #taxiforroland the others wanted #taxiforslade
Katrien and Roland win again!
I knew it was him. He just can't help but see it as a competition, which makes him the divisive one.
As has been proved before, a bit over excitable maybe but 100% committed to removing Roland. He also spent loads of his own time and money helping to organise what proved to be an extremely effective B20 trip to St Truiden. The planning of the trip and activities was rather meticulous, testament to the organisers working so well together. I also saw at first hand he was happy to listen to others in the group, something that made the happy birthday stunt work perfectly.
If anyone sees any decent coverage on English papers/websites in the coming days please let me know. I want to do an English to Chinese translation and post it on some Chinese football forums and social media sites. I translated a very good piece about our situation (thanks to whoever shared the link on here) earlier this year, posted it on a Chinese football forum and it got a lot of positive feedback. Translation takes quite a lot of time so I rarely do it these days but this story is just too good to miss. I really want football fans here to know what a great club we are and what amazing fans we have. I've been doing updates on this Belgium tour in the past three days using my Charlton news account on Weibo.com but I feel they're probably not enough.
Well after being put slightly on the back foot by Katrien's victim statement on Talksport and the police rapping a few fans knuckles, it is great to see Charlton fans on the offensive again, taking the fight into Roland's back yard and getting him properly riled up and the media 100% behind us. The weekend's events have also breathed life back into this forum after a week or two of us keeping our heads down. Roland certainly won't be sitting in the window seat of his bunker any more!
For those that went, would you say we are twisting his arm on a similar level to that of the Standard Liege fans?
Just wondered if you got any insight as to what tipped him over the edge then?
Thats on the agenda for my meeting with the Standard Socios in Liege on Sunday evening. And not just what tipped him over the edge, but how he looked to get his money back and where it went. We are working with them in trying to understand the Staprix accounts. Thanks to @The Red Robin for the reminder about third party ownership, that will be on the agenda too.
We all want him out, but we have to be prepared for it to be financially ugly.
"A normal human being can enjoy a good mental and physical health until he is 75. This means I have some 350 weeks to go. Life quality and happiness are key to me. The situation was a complicated one as the fans don't like me. So I looked for a proper solution. I found one with Bruno Venanzi"

So why the fuck is he still here?!!
Being in another country has allowed him to shield himself from the protests - The realisation that we are targetting him can't do any harm.

I think the third party ownership route is an intriguing one with Duchatelet. It can't just be that one player.
BTW police were fine and seemed more worried we'd be in town o Friday when Brugge are playing STVV.
They even gave one car an escort and then left after taking passport details from one of us and all the car regs. Orders from their boss they said. I assume that is the chief inspector and not Roland but who knows?
One other thing. One the Duchatelet snatch squad started off by pretending he was a local journalist. He even had a film camera and showed the taxi where to park but then suddenly he was snatching presents - very odd as we wanted to leave the presents anyway. He and his colleagues didn't have names either. Or at least not yet.
Quick update on this
The guy who snatched the presents was Peter Onkelinx (Stayen Complex manager) assisted by Stan Niesen (Commercial Director for STVV). Peter did tell me his forename but Stan wouldn't give me any name at all as he said he wasn't important. Odd that a commercial director isn't important but this is a company owned by Roland.
They weren't nasty or violent, just a bit rude and confused. They agreed to let us take photos and then suddenly changed their minds and snatched the presents away.
So if you want your presents Duchatelet then ask Pete (on right) and Stan. I'm sure they have kept them for you

If we are ever acquired by any worthwhile owners they would do well to contract you as a marketer into the Chinese market. Keep up the good work Jessie.

Here we can see Pete answering an important question, 'How long is Roland's knob?'
Additionally, @SE7toSG3 for the WW1 visits and education after the protests - under difficult personal circumstances
And also especially @fatpetergarland who owns and drives the taxi, gave up his time, and allowed his taxi to be used for this protest. A few people have asked how they can book the taxi - call Chris on 07956 456987
@MuttleyCAFC and his company Novo Print Limited who did a great job on the design and printing of our leaflets - and at a great price too. Hugely recommended.
All the CARD team for their input and support but especially: @Nug who designed the taxi wrap, the card, the DVD cover, made the dvd and a ton more; @Airman Brown and @Charlton Charlie for all the media and press planning and liaison.
Keith Levy at blackcab-advertising.com - not a Charlton fan but brilliantly supportive and helpful through the whole process.
Dvinyl who did a brilliant job actually applying the taxi wrap.
Everyone on here and social media for your support and helping to make Taxi for Roland a success.
Shouldn't he have said 'my friend and stooge Bruno Venanzi' or have I got that wrong?
It's a good question - weren't there suspicions that it wasn't a genuine sale just something to get the fans off his back?
There were, and also a modified version which says that Venanzi didn't have the money to pay RD so RD agreed deferred payments (at a suitable rate of interest, doubtless). It seems true that Venanzi has had to button regarding RD after some initial outburst when he first inspected the books, and this may be the reason.
All that said, the Socios seem convinced they have got shot of him and that Standard is in a much better place as a club. They are away on Sunday, unfortunately, (I would love to see a game there) but they are live on TV against Mechelen at 6, which we will watch before dinner and discussion. I hope I'll have the definitive answers, although the Staprix accounts (which the Trust has) do not give much detail away.
Meire effectively declared war (her word) on Charlton supporters who were not fully behind the regime. The events in Belgium have shown her to be a marginal, and rather insignificant figure in the 'war' and far from dictating events she has been left behind in her sinecure post once again to try to pick up the pieces of the disintegrating situation at the Club where we are now informed (if accurately reported) that we are a worse prospect for a managerial appointment than Mansfield Town (perhaps I should add the cliche no disrespect to Mansfield but we were in the Prem not so long ago for crying out loud!!!).
The Belgium trip by CARD (and 2%) may just have shaken RD out of his 1.5% Charlton lethargy. Thank you those that went to Belgium for such a great showing and that double-take by Duchatelet is worth a thousand words and will live in the memory.
I was at a lock in in a bar in St Truiden at about 3:30 am.
People dancing on tables etc, really loud party atmosphere.
I sat down for just two minutes to reply to some texts and then the music cut out.
I looked up to where the barman had his laptop for the music, and he was staring at me.
Then he pressed play and probably the most surreal thing that has ever happened to me occurred.
The music that came out of the speakers included tunes such as "Wanky, wanky, wanky Millwall", "Build a bonfire, put the Palace on the top", "You dirty northern bastards", "the Orient Family" and "VFR".
Where they found this, I have no idea - the locals were loving it.
I was so drunk I could hardly work out what was happening and it wasn't until the next day that I realised how funny it was.

Just seen the video of banner outside restaurant with Roland looking uncomfortable. Why on earth didn't anyone go in and have a rant at the. I could not have resisted telling him to Sell our Club, Sack Liar and that he was an utter failure at Charlton and Politics. Blimey missed opportunity or what !

Explained before by those that were there I believe
but they got it spot on by not going in and creating a scene inside which RD would probably have exploited to his advantage. I hear what you say but the subsequent reporting and the video have proved beyond doubt that the whole event was a masterstoke leaving RD defenceless hence his weird attempted deflection to turn the protest into some kind of sexist criticism of Meire.!
The man is bereft of commonsense and (pure assumption here) is I suspect a rather unpleasant character behind the scenes despite the bonhomie he likes to project.

and then he would have texted Jim White and instead of us having a win on our hands he would have said fans entered the restaurant, shouted at him, maybe verbally abused him and then we would have lost the sympathy we have instead gained. Nothing to be achieved by confrontation in my opinion.

Great story though!
I remember the Andy Hunt song, too.
