  • Struggling to believe anyone at Charlton has Roland’s email. Especially, cannot believe he would even read them.
  • sums the bloke up. he's been blaming his players, his coaches, the fans, this takeover and now he resigns. bet he still thinks his a master tactician and a great coach. deluded prat.

He's now blaming Roly that he can't resign!
    Take some responsibility Robinson.
  • Stick him on gardening leave if he doesn't want to be here. What a mess we are and how shady is Robinson?!
  • We are a total laughing stock.

One low to the next please just sell the club ASAP Roland so we can hopefully get back to watching a club/team with a tad bit of amibition.
  • Never understood when someone resigns only for it to be rejected why they don't just walk. What's the difference?

Only conclusion in such instances is that either the individual is gunning for something else (pay rise, longer contract, new chair) or it's no more than a public gesture with the aim of winning someone over (workforce, customers etc).

If he wants out, then go. If he wants to stay then stop throwing up endless smokescreens and excuses and knuckle down to trying to salvage the season.
  • Now this is out, he has to go.

exactly, who in their right mind would support a Manager who we know now doesn't even want to be here himself.

  • Exactly, the solution is gardening leave and it has to be done now- we have a game to prepare for on Saturday - If we by some miracle were to win it, we would be back in contention for a play off place!!!
  • Murray can manage the team!
  • I suspect that won't be happening now - it is just things need to be done- we haven't got a keeper for Saturday for starters!
  • So who were the 4 who "LOL'd" this then?

    ; )

*Posting after only scanning the last 6 pages*

Just see a post in a Facebook group (not by Ackworth etc.) that the club are getting ready to release a statement to confirm that Robbo has walked and that Harry fooking Kewell is coming in?

I know this is probably bs so don't shoot the messenger, I just thought I'd share it on here.....

Euell didn't want the first team position last time he was offered it on a caretaker basis. Would he take it this time?

If I was Euell I wouldn't want it either
Exactly, a real poisoned chalice. Would hate for one of our heroes to be dropped in the deep end - trying to manage and motivate players who clearly have no confidence and probably don't give a toss. Takeover first, then a new man at the helm.

We have nobody who cares whether we win, not the owner, manager or players, and no-one else around it seems.
  • Doesn't make sense to announce Kewell before announcing a takeover

for me the only one who could turn this round at least short term is Alan Curbishley in some role
Curbishley doesn't know football anymore, certainly not management. Euell and JJ are inexperienced but they know this Charlton.

The Charlton we have loved in the past is long gone, I don't think anyone can turn much around until Roland has gone.
  • I wonder what rank order fans would put these three in for the rest of the season..

    Johnnie Jackson
    Chris O'Loughlin
    Kevin Nugent.

Also, why has Rich Cawley "sat on this for a while". If he offered his resignation before the Blackpool game, so a week ago, why not break the story then? What's happened/changed that makes it okay to break it now but not okay to break it last week. As far as I can see, he's just let the News Shopper steel a march on his "exclusive".

That’s not the case. There’s many reasons why stories don’t always get released straight away.

    Both being RD and KR??

Why would he? Nothing to gain, everything to lose, and working for Europe's less orange answer to Donald Trump in front of crowds smaller than he used to get for reserve games.
  • Robinson has had enough of basket weaving.

This was in reply to my tweet asking why he hadn't revealed he knew about this whole incident before NewsShopper did.
