I don't think anyone can really blame KR for not walking away without a payout. Most would do the same.
Seems quite clear from the latest Dr Kish that KR won't be in charge this weekend. I'd happily have JJ in charge till the end of the season. He always gives us a lift when needed
On the pitch yes. Fans will be more up for it on Saturday. Perhaps more would turn up. But from there, who knows how the players will respond, and how he'll perform in the manager's role. I guess we'll find out by the sounds of it. Can't be any worse than the last two matches can it? Wasn't it only four matches ago we were happy enough after a decent performance and a win at MKD? How time flies.
You were happy lots more still wanted him out
Always happy to go away, and even happier if we win. There was a good turnout at MKD. You were there?
We hadn’t played well for quite a few matches before MKD, but even against them we were overrun fo mr about 20 mins in the second half, partly because of tactics, partly because we lack balls in midfield and have for some time. That’s down to Roland not allowing recruitment, although I expect you’ll blame Robinson. But hey, never let the facts spoil a good story lol.
No I didn't go the MK because I refuse to give money to a club who cheated there way into the league. KR winning one game in a blue moon against a team in the bottom 3 is hardly a great result. He supported the owners, knowing that we were a basket case of a club he's words. He's has had three transfer windows and we are no better than we were under Slade. He just makes it up as he goes along. Now it's RD fault because he's not willing to pay him out.
I moved jobs and never expected to be paid out for jumping ship.

maybe instead of chasing wonder boy (Reeves) for six months his efforts would have been better spent chasing a striker. He knew what he was getting into. No sympathy at all from me, not one iota. Can't wait till the FF pisses off.
Well we hear all sorts of stories about who he was and wasn’t chasing. Your anger and hatred is way OTT the way I see it. Sure, he turned out not to be very good, but he tried his best under difficult circumstances, and was found wanting when the goon got tough. I don’t get the personal insults and jibes though, from grown men.
I hope you’ll be happy to give his replacement time (with backing) to improve things, or have you become used to managers being hired and fired. It’s going to be a tough job, whoever gets it.
I take exception to that comment. How can you know if I am angry and even if I am how angry I am? And hatred? You are bang out of order.
Just to be clear. When manager of MKD he called us a 'basket case'. He knew what he was getting into and yet he still took the job. From then on if he's been lied to and deceived what did he expect? He was warned off and he still took the job. That is why I have no sympathy, not one iota. But anger? Hatred? Behave.
Yes, his replacement would get my backing under new owners but anyone who takes the job under Roland is an idiot (caretakers until the end of season excluded).

Sorry. Not read up much on this. What is Rolands issue with KR resigning do we think? He wouldn't have to pay him a penny would he? .... and he could stick Jackson or Bowyer in his place.

This James Seed character did the same to me Large, he throws around the personal insults accusations if you disagree with him. Anyway I respect your opinion & those in here that I know have been around Charlton long enough to see Robinson for what he is - a chancer and not a very good one at that. You have to put Robinson in context of what has gone before, I didn’t rate Parky as a manager but the man had integrity - something that Robinson failed to show from the moment he gushingly praised Meire and RD in his first press conference.

Basically; Robbo tried to call Roland to resign yet couldnt get through so left a Voicemail. Roland having a few Businesses to run, didnt have the time to listen through the waffle so just deleted it
When they caught up a few days later, Robinson asked about the Voicemail that he left... So that he didnt look stupid, Roland decided to wing it and gave his usual response of: "The answer is NO"
Sorry. Not read up much on this. What is Rolands issue with KR resigning do we think? He wouldn't have to pay him a penny would he? .... and he could stick Jackson or Bowyer in his place.
If KR just wanted to walk he could.
That he says (and we are only getting his unreliable version) it was refused suggests to me that the resignation came with conditions linked to a pay-off and the compensation payable by Oxford.
So not really a straight forward resignation but an attempt by Robinson to get out in a way that suits him career wise and financially but does the opposite for Roland IMHO.

He appears to be Oxford's first choice to be their new manager. Roland is not content with the financial benefits of getting him off the wage bill (and presumably replacing him with coaches already on the payroll), and is holding out for some compensation out of Oxford.
Speculation, but that appears to be the most likely scenario. The news that he'd offered to resign broke on Tuesday. Oxford had stated that they'd be announcing the appointment of their new manager on Tuesday. Karl is still here, Oxford didn't announce their new manager yesterday.

Normally on a Thursday. With nobody other than Tone left, he will give a briefing on various sandwich fillings.
I'm not having that!! Everyone underestimates what the man does at the club, beavering away in the background while the club disintegrates. Just get off his back................ Just being nice @Tom of SE9
I'd love to believe that KR got on the blower to RD and said "Listen boss like, perhaps it's me that's the problem like. If you think its for the best like, I'll hand in me ressie like" and that he really does have the clubs best interests at heart. But we all know it aint so.

Apologies @LargeAddick , I shouldn't have aimed those comments at you. I'd just been trawling though endless abusive personal comments about Robinson, and it was getting to me. You've made plenty of informed comments and criticisms about him without going for the 'fat scouse prick' (etc) card.
[edit, I just spotted the 'FF'. lol]
It just annoys me when criticism on CL become personal and OTT (not aimed at you, just a general point). These things just escalate online - because none of it is face to face people can get carried away. I've stopped supporting Karl for things I've seen on the pitch and decisions he's made. I don't feel the need to say he's the worst manager of all time, or to hurl abuse at him. He's not, he's just pretty mediocre, and inflexible imho. And it's obvious that someone else needs to come in with a new broom and start again.
There's a groundswell of opinion that he's gone to Roland asking for a payout. Where does that come from? Is that a fact or an opinion that has become a 'truth'. It seems more likely to me that there is a clause in his contract saying if he leaves before his contract is up he has to pay Roland compensation. I suspect he (or his wannabe employer) doesn't want to pay up, and he may be arguing that as he was misled about the level of support he would get in January (or at other times) he should be allowed to leave gratis. Speculation of course, as is the 'he's after a payout' argument.

You were happy lots more still wanted him out

maybe instead of chasing wonder boy (Reeves) for six months his efforts would have been better spent chasing a striker.
James I can't see any personal insults in my post?
Not if he has a contract. He'd have a notice period etc at least. I expect he'd have to pay Roland compensation if he wanted to walk. If a club wanted him enough they would pay that for him presumably @MrLargo

I criticised you ages ago, not because you disagreed with me but because I felt your endless 'fat Scouser' comments weren't getting us anywhere. Keyboard warrior stuff. Did you ever turn up to any of the meetings to tell him what you think of him? It's just a bit pointless. There are plenty of more valid ways to criticise him.
Be that as it may - you can’t go around accusing people of insulting you, being abusive or angry just because they don’t have the same view as you. I have never seen Large be abusive on here to anyone - I have 3 flags in all my time on here - two from the much missed Colin1961 and one for getting our league position wrong during a game FFS !! Anyway I am hardly alone in pointing out that Robinson is of above average BMI and has his family roots in Liverpool....
See all this media hype is on the OS now. If it's true, how can KR show his face on Saturday? He's going to be pilloried. What is needed is for him to make some kind of statement - maybe at tomorrow's press conference?

Oakey what are you on about? I don't go around accusing people of insulting me, it's when people get abusive in a personal towards Robinson I don't like it, just as I wouldn't like it if it was a bus driver or a shop worker on the receiving end of it. It isn't very nice. I don't like the way it's becoming a competition as to see who hates or despises him the most. It has nothing to do with people agreeing or not agreeing with me. If you read my posts since Christmas, my support was waning even back then.
I'm happy that you've only got three flags. But there's no excuse for getting our league position wrong is there.
So you didn't go to MKD because of your principals, or because you're in Canada?
KR is a 3rd division manager of a team of 3rd division players. His lack of tactical nous is not responsible for the players' inability to finish; put in a decent cross, let alone a corner; to defend; defend a lead in injury time. 4-3-2-1 or 4-4-2 will make no difference to a bunch of nervous and demoralised players. The scapegoating and personal invective directed at KR is as predictable as it is puerile: the owner's the problem.

So you back Roland then ?
No, because as usual Duchatlet can see the price of everything and the value of nothing.
Letting Robinson go would have given him one last, slim, chance of the club going up this season and so increasing the price of the club.
It would have also saved a few quid on wages and might even have smoothed the way for a takeover.
But Roland would rather haggle over some possible compensation.

So true.
Jimmy Tarbuck (there you go @JamesSeed another personal insult) is the victim and it's never his fault.
I said last season "Shut up and win games" the first he has never done and the other he's not done nearly enough.

I see Jaap Stam has been axed by Reading.
Bookies have given him good odds to become the next Oxford manager.
Poor old Karl is going to be in a cold sweat.

Roland having a few Businesses to run, didnt have the time to listen through the waffle so just deleted it
When they caught up a few days later, Robinson asked about the Voicemail that he left... So that he didnt look stupid, Roland decided to wing it and gave his usual response of: "The answer is NO"
That he says (and we are only getting his unreliable version) it was refused suggests to me that the resignation came with conditions linked to a pay-off and the compensation payable by Oxford.

Speculation, but that appears to be the most likely scenario. The news that he'd offered to resign broke on Tuesday. Oxford had stated that they'd be announcing the appointment of their new manager on Tuesday. Karl is still here, Oxford didn't announce their new manager yesterday.
SLP expect Jackson to be made caretaker should Robinson leave. Sounds like he's the manager Oxford are looking to appoint.
It's just a bit pointless. There are plenty of more valid ways to criticise him.
Everyone underestimates what the man does at the club, beavering away in the background while the club disintegrates. Just get off his back................ Just being nice @Tom of SE9
But we all know it aint so.
I'm happy that you've only got three flags. But there's no excuse for getting our league position wrong is there.
