Having visions of a rausing dressing room speech from Jacko about what it means to play for Charlton, 2 up top and Charlton winning every game for the rest of the season and getting promoted... Someone get my mess!
he's being coming up with non stop excuses from the moment he got here. even last season (after he had a transfer window) before the season had ended he was talking about all these players he's going to bring in and how our football was going to be. yes we needed to change things around but why not wait till the end of the season to slag off the players. no class.
he has consistently made himself look like an arse. some examples:
"basket case of a club" - he then signs for said club. "meire has been great since I got here" - coming up with this when he knows full well how we feel about her. then she ends up leaving less than a year later. "ive spoke to roland quite a few times" - Karl, I doubt he even knows who you are till you handed in your notice. you knew he would be problematic but yet you still signed for the club. no excuse. "we got goals all over the pitch" - fosu scores a few then what? "he's the next dele ali" - then he doesn't play him for months "i'm gonna turn him into a centre forward" said about Doodo and we know how that ended up. then said about Zyro before he realised the blokes a winger. "see 4-4-2 doesn't work" - trying it with a winger and a very seldom used striker for 30mins doesn't mean it wont work. "ive told them that they can take the next 6 weeks off if they dont want to be here" - within a week you try to resign. I could go on but you get the idea.
his system can only work if all the players are playing well need to create space and have lots of movement, and there is no injury's. injuries happen, form drops, is there a solution? no. why was there no contingency plan? maybe even have another forward? he's had 3 transfer windows and we are no better than where we were. instead we get this crap about trying to sign will grigg, as if Roland would give him those type of funds. how come other clubs in this league find targets for a couple of hundred thousand at the most here and there. why? cos they're bloody realistic and know how to scout a player. also you knew what Roland was all about from the word go.
for the last few months he's been sussed out by more and more fans of how inept he is. how clueless of a tactician and a character he is. he's been blaming everyone and everything for his incompetence apart from himself. All this in probably the worst league we have ever been in. as you can see i'm far from a fan.
people can try to defend him and I doubt I will ever agree as I doubt they will ever agree with me. I dont know what will happen once he's gone, we might even get a more useless manager with no class and more bang average to crap players but for me its well worth the risk.
No offence but that is such a ‘fans answer’. Bowyer could be by far the best manager potential out the three, none of us really know. Yet some fans will happily go with a gut feel based on Euell being a nice guy and Bowyer being a twat as a youngster.
Silly thing to say. Bowyer has far less coaching experience or qualifications than Euell.
Jason has a much stronger CV than either JJ or LB and on that basis would be my choice.
Nothing to do with Bowyer as a player or his actions off the pitch.
Shame Roland has taken so bloody long to sort this... As said earlier this week, in two days we play Plymouth, proper preparation and we MAY have won, leaving us two points off the Play-Offs
Instead its been left, meaning we're even more in disarray making me think that we'll get brushed aside, leaving us eight points from the Play-Offs!! - On a positive note it'll mean the season will be over and there wont be the potential for Roland to sell us as a Championship club (Gives us more time to rebuild over the summer if the takeover happens before the end of this season).
Of course the other fear is Bowyer is in WAY over his head, the fact we're only 12-pts from the relegation zone (four games) could see us falling back into that fight... League Two then will be a lot less attractive to these interested parties, meaning they'll then walk away!!
Well one more out the door, how very sad and how much of a laughing stock have we become! One person and one person alone is responsible for this and that is RD. He has single handedly managed to take a club from mid-championship status to mid league one status in 4 years. He employed buffoons in his SMT, he had no concept of English football clubs and how they worked BUT the crazy thing and most unforgivable 'trait' was no fucking ambition!! KR now quits, and yes he was like 'marmite' among many of the fan base, I for one quite liked him, he had a passion for the club not seen since Powell's days, yet he was handed a bucket of shite when it came to spending, transfers etc. So RD sees another manager leave and we sit here now with no CEO, no CFO, no manager, Murray staying quiet, fans deserting in droves and the ship heading towards the rocks at a rapid rate of knots. RD continues to play games, it seems, with potential buyers and seems happy to watch as the club lurches and rolls from side to side. I hope KR comes out and tells it like it is once he has gone, he needs to say what really went on behind the scenes. RD needs to finally be exposed for what he has managed to achieve in 4 years. I blame one person and one person only for this mess Dutchelete!!! Its time for the old fool to go, and go now!! Karl I wish you the best whatever pans out, but now is your opportunity to speak out, so come on, lets be hearing from you!!!
I’m hopeful this is the beginning of the end and it’s all going to move at pace now. And the players will be keen to prove their worth ready for next season in our massively rich new era. It could still be in the Championship...though looking increasingly unlikely.
So as it seems a lot of us that had heard something on this story were right! Funny thing when several people post about hearing the news it is shrouded in doubt til Airman, RedHenry or some other 'ITK' individual gets it right.
Am I the only one really unsure where my head is with all this?
I've been quite shocked at the levels of opprobrium heaped on the man, with the excuse being 'he knew was he was getting himself into' or 'he deserves it because he worshipped Duchatelet and Meire'. It's almost been a case of 'I hate Robinson more than you do', or 'I hated Robinson before you hated Robinson'. The man is a (pretty average) football manager, not a child molester. I think we've displayed some of the same mentalities as a lynch mob at times.

Personally I think you’re going OTT to magnify the opposing stand you’ve largely taken. Online views have been largely mixed, up to maybe a fortnight ago when those opposed started to escalate.
My main point though is you are confusing social media commentary with reality. Despite some holding strong anti views for some time, never once has this ever manifested itself during games, in fact I think with the exception of Saturday Robbo’s name has been chanted positively in every home game.
Some have been course in sharing their views, but there’s been no lynch mob.

I couldn’t agree more, sure Karl took a 1000 words to say something when a 100 would do, sure he was a limited league one manager, I can see how any owner may fall for his charm and passion ( my missus compared him to Pardew).
He sure talked a good game, was passionate and cared, but at the end of the day he was Rolands mouthpiece and whipping boy, he knew full well what he was taking on.
He can now come out and say we are a basket case of a club, he’ll easily get another job, any manager that takes on Charlton and fails at the moment will be seen in footballing circles as having an impossible task.
What’s more got to me, and I’ve kept my quiet on this in the last few weeks is the hate and anger coming from the fans which has been just a bit uncharltonlike.
If you’re peed off , don’t bother going, do something else that makes you happy, don’t bother renewing your season ticket, sure pick and choose your games next season, but there’s a bigger world out there ( and I don’t just mean Bluewater!).
Let this ship sink and come back when this twat in Belgium is sick of us, it’s not good for your health at the moment to follow this plank of an owners plaything.
No offense, but it's only 60 hours until a vital game. Can we not talk about all this until after 5 pm Saturday. It will only upset all the players glued to these threads.

One by one they are starting to disappear.
A step closer.

SLP saying Jackson and Bowyer.

Could JJ be the bad cop ?
