I seem to remember one of our players was named Big Nosed Wankstain. Came to us from a local side and did a reasonable job. Went on to become a manager (ran us for a while) not sure where he is now.
Full name is "Anthony Philip David Terry Frank Donald Stanley Gerry Gordon Stephen James Oatway" after the 1973 QPR team.
So he's got 11 given names, yet he's known as Charlie, which isn't one of those names? If they wanted him to be known as Charlie, why didn't they just add that on the front?

It's a nickname.
Charlie Oatway was named by his parents, fanatical QPR supporters, after Rangers' 1973 squad, most of whom went on to finish runners-up to Liverpool on goal difference in the title race three years later. When Oatway's parents informed his aunt of the baby's full name, she replied: "You'll make him look a right Charlie."
