Toast. Tea. Sausages - bog standard ones, not gourmet. Greenback bacon. Black pudding. Fried eggs. Fried potatoes made from spuds left over from the night before or chips. Baked beans. Fried bread - sunblest white sliced or similar. The Guardian or WSC or paper of your choice. A big table to myself in the window but not too close to the door. Lots of time.
I'm usually sausages over bacon. I love a good bit of bacon but hate it when it goes cold and dry, which is unfortunately what you normally get at a lot of places that do fry-ups. Sausages retain their heat and juiciness brilliantly.
That said, gotta be proper butcher's sausages. None of that Richmond or Walls bollocks. I nearly gave a mate a slap when he claimed to have put frankfurters on his fry-up. Bleuurgh.
Had a fry up a few weeks back over in east London. it came in a frying pan. I said "you run out of plates?" they said we thought It was quite a novel idea to serve all our food in what we cook it in. I said "bloody glad I didn't order anything roasted in an oven" they weren't impressed.
What about cost difference between inner/outer London? My local café (West Yorks) does: 2 x sausage, 2 x back bacon, 2 eggs, tomatoes, black pudding, mushrooms, slice fried bread and 2 x toast + coffee/tea/orange juice all for £5.10. Good quality, good price.

Jeesus Christ, that's disgraceful mate, well done for pulling them up on it.
There's reason why plates have been so popular for the last few centuries - they do a very efficient job of keeping your food in position whilst you eat it. Effing sick of these skinny jeans, beardy weirdy Goldsmiths types who keep serving me up my dinner on bits of slate, misshapen lumps of timber, etc. Frying pan is a new one on me. Good job you didn't order toast with it, or deep fried chips - your table would have looked like an episode of "Duncan Dares"!
Orange juice (the healthy bit) Mug of coffee Bacon (mandatory) Sausage Beans Mushrooms Tomato (optional) Fried Egg Black pudding White pudding (not always easy to find, but wonderful stuff) Bread and butter - usually to accomodate aforementioned bacon HP sauce - for bangers NOT on the bacon please Appropriate sports supplement
Two slices of toast and butter (one fried egg on each) 4 smoked rashers, grilled. 1 grilled tomato halved. One half to be placed on top of each egg then sliced in and mixed so the mess soaks into the toast. Field mushrooms, sliced, fried in butter (and sprinkled with a little onion salt whilst cooking - try it, brings out an amazing flavour) Baked beans. 2 sausages, grilled. Black pudding. HP sauce. No hash browns, they are not English. No chips. Sometimes add a few slices of left over potato, fried, if a bit peckish.
2 slices of toast with "Old Times" marmalade.
Tea.
A long rest before indigestion takes over the rest of the day.

So the 4 or 5 could be:
Orange juice Mug of coffee Bread and butter Bacon (mandatory) Appropriate sports supplement
I could, perhaps, forgive a grilled/fried tomato as an eccentricity. But those who open a tin of tomatoes and pour it all over their plate? Literally makes me sick.
Customer-"Breakfast no 2 please, but could you do it my way"
Cafe- "what's your way?"
Customer-"Beans-cold at the top.red hot in the middle and burned& black on the bottom. Sausage- Beautifully Rock hard,so that when you stick your fork in it flies out and lands on the floor. Bacon-nice and leathery so that it blunts the knife when you cut it. Eggs- so rubbery that you could take them off the plate and bounce them up and down...."
Cafe- "Hold on fella, I haven't got the time to do all that"
Egg, bacon, fried bread, tomato, mushrooms, Kennedys Sausage and baked beans. Although my favorite breakfast is Eggs Royale(Eggs Benedict with smoked salmon instead of ham) I love Hollandaise
