Day coach got back to Charlton at 1.15am, a full hour-and-a-half ahead of schedule thanks to the coach drivers getting us on the earlier Eurotunnel shuttle. Fantastic work by all involved today. Now, sleep...
I have just got home to Lee after going to Belgium with Coyotejohn and Pico of this parish. Been up 21 hours but never mind. Will have to check online tomorrow if my excursion and our collective effort today did any good or came across in a positive way. Pissed off at the Northampton result, but not pissing vinegar.
Loving all this congratulations to all , how many would you say were there today?
Police estimated 300 Charlton fans, possibly a few more
I was at the rear of the march and spoke to two plain clothes police walking beside me. Ever chatty I asked them how many they think were there, one of them saw a look of some kind from me and says, 'if it makes you happy, 500', I said 'seriously' the other one said, 'it is probably just over 300', to which the first one agreed. We had Stayen fans with us, but in my mind there were definitely upwards of 260/270 Charlton fans there.
Impossible to count, but we know how many the coaches hold and there were a lot I spoke to who went under their own steam as the three of us did. What is important to remember that is that this is only a one off if Roland sells, he will know we are not going to stop. Battles have to be won and they are often hard thought. No reason to assume this one won't be, but there is a spirit amongst Charlton fans that will always see us recover. We need to remove the cancer first of course.
Well done to everyone concerned yesterday. A great result.
The most important aspect being that this protest was trouble free and must surely have raised the profile of the campaign in the eyes of those watching.
I got the impression that Roland is not particularly popular at St Truiden, judging by the friendly response from the locals. Overall it was good to get back into protest mode again. There was an excruciating moment on the coach back when they played KR's post-match gibberish over the tannoy, buta very worthwhile day.

I'm still in Belgium but before leaving St. T. I can tell you that the official figure on the number of Charlton fans present at the joint protest against Roland Duchatelet's ownership of Charlton Athletic and STVV has been given as 4,307.
Well, if the Club can manipulate figures, then why not?
Seriously though, I ended up drifting towards the back of the march where the STVV fans were chanting in English something on the lines of:
"You forget about the football, you forget about the fans, Roland Duchatelet you don't have any plans"
The first line is definitely right the second one may be an invention of mine.

I think there are plenty of disgruntled current employees at the moment, i.e. most of the players.

True Charlton spirit!
Anything above dead is a bonus.

Still, just like Roland and Katrien, we live and learn.
.....of our misfortunes.
