From reading Fanny's posts on here I cannot imagine the content of the email being anything other than a very matter of fact opinion of someone who is unfit to to do their job. I bet it wasn't aggressive or particularly offensive. Again this just shows a complete lack of class on KM's part. If you hold office in a public facing organisation, and that organisation goes into decline for a sustained period, you're going to get criticism. The one tactic that KM should've been employing in all of this CARD era is to simply ignore it.
Just when you think she may be getting the hang of it, (her interview on radio4, and comparatively speaking) she goes and does this.
I've said on here before that this will always be their biggest downfall. They cannot stop putting their foot in their mouths with their constant vendettas against CARD.
Pitch, Rubashow, bevington, all these PR and comms people. An utter waste of resources, time and money.

Firstly, a massive thank you to @killerjerrylee for staying resolute and loyal to Jean. I'm sure 99% of true Charlton fans fully support the stand you have ridiculously been boxed into a corner and forced to make.
This will stem from two things; firstly the club wanting to get control of this event after being spectacularly knocked back when they tried last year, and secondly, an opportunity that take forward a spiteful and vindictive approach to Jean simply because she is someone who has made her feelings clear previously on the regime's failures.
These people have come into our club and within the space of a few years ripped out its foundations and completely dismantled the club. Individuals who have worked from the club, volunteered for the benefit of the club, or simply supported the club for decades have walked away under this stewardship. And that lot don't care a jot as they are so insular and caught up with 'beating' those they see as against them, they haven't a clue or a moments thought in considering what what is actually best for the club.
Jean is someone who must have put 30 years service into things that aid and benefit the club or fellow supporters; organising and running a supporters group, representing at fans forums, organising player of the year, maintaining the memorial garden at the Training Ground. All the way down to scraping shit off the seats at The Valley in summer so the club didn't have to pay out for cleaners.
But what most resonates most for us average Joes with 'people like Jean' is not really the above, it's more the 3am posts after a midweek away defeat, searching for a positive. increasingly strugglng to find one, bit still searching for it.
Whilst Meire and co have been here for two minutes and don't give a damn, we all know 'people like Jean' who have been doing these 3am away day returns when we've taken 200 away, or given up their Matchday to collect votes, or given up their midweek evening for some supporters committee organising meeting.
And we know they do care.
When this mob go there is going to need to be a massive effort to rebuild what actually was not that long ago good about it. Until then, the supporters more than ever needs to stand resolute and unified against it.
Sad times. Here's hoping more than anything the increased speculation he is seeking to sell will deliver something positive

A few years back I had the pleasure and the privilege of attending the POTY dinner due to getting lucky in the ticket lottery for CL members. It was when we had just won the League and the bonds between fans, players and the club were strong - we were as one and it was fantastic. Part of what epitomised this was the incredible effort put in by Fanny et al to organise the event; their love for the club shone through and was reflected by the players, management, fans and those working for the club.
It makes me so sad when I think of where we are now compared to back then. They have largely succeeded in 'de-Charltonising' almost every aspect of the club....effectively ripping the heart out it. People who care have been replaced with soul-less yes men and women to whom working for the club is 'just a job'. Those with a passion for Charlton have been disenfranchised and shunned. It appears that they feel threatened by people who care, as this sad development shows. Couple that with an obsessive need to control everything and the most important bond is severed; that between the club and its fans. Now, I'm no businessman, but that doesn't strike me as either desirable or sustainable - in fact, it is the very definition of incompetent administration.
My message to the spiteful halfwits who have taken this step?
You bought the wrong club. You are a complete and utter incompetent shambles. Sell up now and let people who actually care about CAFC repair the senseless vandalism that you have committed.
I think the correct decision has been made by Ian Jean and Marilyn. I do find it weird and I possibly mean unique probably both that a CEO would want to get involved at all. She is mad.

1972. The the award was retrospectively given to Keith Peacock, I believe as part of the Centenary celebrations in 2005.
Sorry, that's the last time there wasn't an award. I don't know if there's always been a do in that time or whether there had been one in 1972 an no-one bothered recording the result.
'72 was a shit season and we got relegated to the 3rd division for the first time since 1935. I'd never begrudge Keith Peacock any award, but Ray Treacy got about 20 goals in that shit season and was my hero at the time, so he would have got my vote.

Really ? I'm not a member of the Junior Addicks but I'm aware it's important for the future of our club and as part of our history and traditions just as the POTY is. That's what this is about, not only is it a terrible decision made as a reaction against someone who has done so much for our club with very little in return but it's just another example of them not only not caring about our traditions but actually demolishing them, please don't be indifferent about that.

What a thoroughly petty and vindictive approach by the club towards someone who has made such a huge and selfless contribution over so many years - not just in organising the POTY dinner, but on so many other fronts, such as tending to the Pierre Bolangi memorial garden.
Fanny has never been anything but candid in her views on the regime and ignoring the email would have shown a bit of common sense on their part. However, this lot are incapable of getting anything right and I expect the opportunity to try and throw their weight about proved too great to resist.

I have read with interest the comments following my original post yesterday evening. I am very appreciative of the support from just about everyone but would like to correct a couple of points as I am anxious that this sorry incident be correctly reported and do not want to be unfair to anyone.
On 7th February Fanny was angry about the fact that the club had blocked our original plans for the POTY and fired off an email intended for me but mistakenly sent it to a member of the club staff. As a result of this email, I was first told that we could go ahead with the Dinner but that she could not be involved in the organisation. This was later amended whereby she could now be involved, but must not communicate directly with any of the club staff as she had been so disrespectful to them. It was this decision and nothing else which forced us to cancel the whole event.
Some people are implying that the fact that neither Fanny nor Marilyn are now members of the Fans Forum had a bearing on this matter. It did not come up at any stage and as I represent Bromley Addicks on the Fans Forum, it was always intended that I would front it up and the other two would have been co-opted to work with me.
You are probably wondering why Fanny has been quiet this last 24 hours. I have just heard from her and she confirmed that she is safe and well and has not been kidnapped by the club. She has agreed for the world to now know what appeared in the offensive email, so I am happy to repost below the relevant section. All children and people of a nervous disposition should look away at this point.
The first part of the email was perfectly harmless. I reproduce below the full and uncensored final paragraph, exactly as it was written.
'I'd like to know your thoughts before you attend tomorrow's OTHER meeting.......Why haven't THAT lot got their house in order at this late stage? Because they could not organise a p*ss up in a brewery is the right answer, and as far as I'd be concerned, I wouldn't have anything to do with the Anniv event. Too little too late. but I respect your views on this, of course.'
Pretty racy stuff, you are thinking. Is it sufficient to bring about the cancellation of the POTY though ? I wonder.
