Because she knew she'd be out of a job if the club was sold.
Having worked with fairly senior business people over the last 20 years I would say one of the most important things I learned was that there is nearly always a 'hidden agenda' behind decisions to do, or not do, some big business change. I think you may well be right.

Always thought that was pretty obvious, even at the time with the whole Varney saga.

Didn’t think they had the climate to grow tea. Obviously got the rain fall, but humid!
How interesting...I bought some Harrogate coffee beans from Waitrose today and I also questioned the current climate in Yorkshire. @Leedsaddick should be in the know and could explain this growth in the beverage market from up t’north?

Just the fact they don’t have the cash , and don’t listen to their bullshit about not willing to pay an over inflated price (I agree the price is wrong)
The price hasn’t changed from when the first interest was shown and if everyone laughed and walked away from the off set he would have to lower it
But in the rotten Belgian bastds mind the fact that people were willing to meet his stupid price (remember the price agreed joint statement )
Then he is never going to agree it’s wrong
Just fuck off and go away now stop drip feeding shite to jimmy seed to stay relevant we are all bored to death of it

Put up or shut up
I am not sure the price agreed statement is what Roland had originally asked for, and to be honest, I would not trust a word he said anyway, Roland has told more lies than ive seen Christmas's, and ive seen 72 of them.
There is no doubt the asking price for the club is way to high, and that's the reason the sale has not moved forward one Iota since the playoffs.
I dont believe the Aussies would be stupid enough to just pay willy nilly what Roland has asked for, and to be honest I could not trust the Aussies to do the right thing for the club if they did, some of us can remember a time a certain Mark Hulyer spending £320,000 or there abouts on Allan Simonsen, we dont want to go back to that again

The sale would have taken place by now.
IT IS OUR FAULT
Let's add " Mea Culpa" to those banners I suggested earlier.
It just reads like a version of a famous film starring Bill Murray! (Cue all the witty remarks about various Bill Murray movies! ).

Whoosh away.
Charlton Life....
The only home grown British tea.
To be honest, to me, it tastes like any other tea but it’s nice to have a packet in the cupboard.
It’s true no one else has put them off
