First visit to The Valley was just after Jimmy Seed died. Dec ‘66 for the Millwall game. Next visit was when my mum opened the Jimmy Seed Stand. More recently it has become an unexpected second home, and I’m sure JS would understand.

    Takeover update from Gallen:

Supporters were left hoping that Gallen’s change of status indicated that a takeover could be close.

“Not that I know of,” he responded. “I knew we were getting close in the summer. I’ve spoken to prospective buyers a few times in the last 12 months. In the summer I was talking to them about transfer targets because if they came through the door they needed to be aware who we were looking at signing.

“Unfortunately it looks like that has gone back into the background. It will still come back, I just don’t know when.

I attended the Kings Cross fire.

Roland has backed LB to the extent that he’s been able to sign 15 quality players to add to the quality players LB wanted to keep. He’s bought into the dream. He’s not selling.

Why did he recently say the priority is still to sell the club?

I’m asking how has he “bought into the dream”, he’s still talking about selling. It’s no dream to him, just gives him a better chance of getting his money back.

His dream is now Premier league money to pillage.

Now is the best opportunity that Roland has to sell - we may not be as attractive as we are right now for many more years. Get it done you old scrote.

I'm sure everyone is getting tired of this thread as nothing is happening .... and it meanders on and on.

The only purpose of keeping it open is for Henry to get to one billion pages, set a new Charlton Life record for pointlessness and get bragging rights.

Instead can't Admin just give Henry a 'Promote' ..... and then this thread could be put out of it's misery?

The best opportunity for a sale will be between February and May if we are in the mix for the automatics or a play off place. Nobody will pay the price before then and after we are promoted they won’t be able to afford the club for another 12 months.

Wouldn't it be great if Roland just wasn't such a disrespectful tosser plus other stuff.

Our league position. The players and coaches. Ticket prices. You can't really fault it.

I'm guilty of a short memory.....but as it currently stands, those things are going rather well at the moment.

If Roland just kept his trap shut, employed the right people from the start of his ownership and didn't treat us like an experiment.....He would have been a great owner....mostly because, no one would have really been forced to moan about him that much. We would have just been a safe and secure club...led by the right people to direct us.

He could have enjoyed his Belgian waffles in Belgium and just left us to get on with it.
Even if he unnecessarily still always gave us a crappy budget. Goes to show...the right people can manage it.

Bowyer is obviously a fast learner.

Although he is obviously a very successful businessman, the state of his tenure at CAFC really is luck rather than his judgement at the moment.

    Please do not flatter him.
