I don't think they will appoint Kewell now. It might have been the intention but they need to get the fans onside and dumping Bowyer would be a disastrous move.
This is assuming that Bowyer will want to stay. He's done a great job, he knows it too, there might be a better offer lurking and regardless of how well he has done, Bowyer will know that he wasn't the new owners choice, so there is room for a few doubts in my opinion.
Would love him to continue though, wherever we end up. I really don't want to end up with Harry Kewell, I don't think he has done well enough to deserve a move to a team vying for the top spots in the division above his own.
I don't know who runs the Belgium 20 Twitter, or what their sources might be like. But as somebody says below that Tweet, that sounds similar to the deal RD cut with Venanzi when he sold Standard, on the player fee side for a start. (I think their stadium is municipal owned).
As I understand it, Venanzi simply doesn't have the personal wealth of someone like Muir. On the playing side Standard suffered after the buyout, at one stage they were bottom of the league, this a club that has never been relegated from the top tier. They pulled up from that but have failed to regain their status as a top 3 club with Club Bruges and Anderlecht. Nevertheless when I last spoke to the chair of the Socios he said that while the results were a sign of a long road back to their former status, fans were still bloody glad to see the back of RD and this was a price worth paying. He didn't use the phrase 'we got our club back' but it sounded like that was the mood.
I'll get back in touch with them and try to find out more about the deal and how they see the consequences.
I think we should not rush to judgement until we find out both "what" and "why".
BTW the Sky commentator even made mention of the ROT plan to stand in the Belgian elections :-)
Slightly concerning if the new owners don't have 40m to buy him out completely
This is my fear, do the Aussies have the funds needed for investment into the club, or, they can’t do both immediately (buy the club & invest) - time will tell
Slightly concerning if the new owners don't have 40m to buy him out completely
Been my concern with the Aussie bid all along that they don’t have the money needed to run the club
I will wait and see what the official line is before getting excited
If someone doesn’t have 40 mil to buy us out lock stock and smoking barrels then there is serious implications on them being able to make us compete in this league let alone any other ambitious plans they may think they can achieve

True, though it's possible they might believe that paying a smaller price up front and having more to invest in the team initially is a better way to do business. Besides, if Roland is taking 10% of youth player sales until the total price is paid off, then he could be waiting a while and the club will still be keeping 90%, which is significant. It's already been said that Roland cannot lease the assets because the charges from former directors prevent him from doing that, so it's likely the new owners will also own the ground and training ground, so actually, it may not be such a terrible plan overall.

Why spend your own money when you can spend someone else’s?
For example, you maybe able to buy a car in cash but to do so you would have to cash in a long term investment to do so. You don’t want to do this so you borrow the money.
Paying Rolly from youth sales at 10% a pop could be a long drawn out process and would not affect the running of the club in anyway. Could make a lot of sense.

Just asking if there’s a reason why someone wouldn’t want to pay all the money immediately?
Surely Muir wouldn’t come all the way from AUS just for 90 mins of football - so airman’s rumour about papers signed tomorrow must have weight to it ...
To also have a ‘fans’ tour of the stadium and to talk to fans etc firstly surely means he is confident it will happen , but secondly highlights the kind of owner he will be!
This guy is a massive step up from Duchebag , and without getting carried away - I’m confident this guy can and will be the best owner Charlton will have had!

Or is it sale or return?
If you were buying the club for £50m, would you think a deal to pay £30m and the balance of £20m back at the rate of 10% of youth player sales a good one?

Too true.
Reading this stuff has given me butterflies all night But I won't believe it until it's on the official site.

That's the original Aussie bid you're thinking of, before Muir got involved, I think. Pay attention Pike!
I expect they would rather pay the bill later if this is as this it seems a speculative bid to reach the Premier league which will then provide funds for debts to be paid and or sell the club, doesn't fill one with confidence
I was told months and months ago that the Aussie interest was preferred but was not the most financially beneficial choice to the club going forward of the three parties
Player sales % seems to be an ongoing trend in club sales so is not a surprise and if it’s 10% then it’s not that big a deal and I would expect there to be a buyout clause from the new owners on this aspect of the sale
It’s a wait and see moment we all want two shit chalets gone and that moment can’t come soon enough but it’s going to be a more toned down ambition for where and how we regain a footing in the London football scene let alone anything bigger than that over the next couple of seasons especially if we don’t go up this year
the 10% of player sales should only be allowed for the time he was here, anyone in the academy/signed before that saggy bollock rocked up belong to CAFC

Disagree James I am not referring to the AA consortium I was told that this bid had not got the money required to take us back through the leagues
Don’t mistake personal wealth for money available to a project

It's ironic really. Everything Roland touched at Charlton turned into a complete disaster. The only thing he really left alone was the academy, which continued to flourish (well done the U18s!), and now the rancid old scrote wants to use it pay off all his losses, as if somehow he's responsible for all their success!
He should really be after Daisy for that money. She's the one who wasted most of it on lavish five year contracts for useless footballers and huge fees for their agents.

Not player sales, youth player sales.
It is not a question of who developed a player, it is simply a structure to repay any outstanding monies due to Rolly. I would also expect the debt to be secured in some way. All perfectly normal and does not mean they haven’t got the money to spend, just good business.

So a lot more ambition than RD ever had then.
I never expected a Wolves style takeover with multi million pound signings. Reasonable money on well thought out signings is better than wasting big money on average players. RD spent far more than we had in years and look where that's taken us.
