If we signed a dependable player with good reputation and experience in League One - and he played a major role in getting us promoted, then it would be a case of job done.killerandflash said:

He doesn't stick around clubs does he? He seems to have have a series of moves, most of which have been when out of contract
Powell signed players like Matty Taylor, Danny Hollands, etc to be part of a team to get promoted.
They were never going to establish themselves at the next level - but they were vital cogs driving forward a promotion winning side.

Prefer Darren Potter.1

True although the main reason that we went up was that Kerm and BWP scored 40 goals and we had a phenomenal team spiritOggy Red said:

He was dominant when he played against us, and slightly scary. I said we should try and sign him at the time, I think. I also though he was the player who bust Ricky's foot.Henry Irving said:

Bournemouth are preparing a £10m bid for Liverpool's 19-year-old defender Joe Gomez (The Sun)
Sell on fee?4 -
You would hope that at 10m, there wouldn't be much profit for a sell on to be based upon......but knowing our mob, that will be 8m profit for Liverpool.0

NOT a CAFC rumour .. Paul Cook the Pompey boss is having talks with Wigan0
-
Dawson is a very aggressive and mobile central midfielder he'd suit us very well .. Scunthorpe are in danger of losing all their best players, a problem inherent in a small club attracting small crowds and having a talented and ambitious playing staff .. Alexander the manager will probably be in demand as wellLeuth said:

Mobility is hugely needed since the departure of Cousins and with Kashi not playingLincsaddick said:

So would this apparent period of exclusivity that the aussies had now be over, if we are hearing we are further away from a deal? Any idea how long exclusivity can be held by a prospective buyer?0

Bit of a sideways move that, but i guess it's the proverbial "move back oop north" factorLincsaddick said:NOT a CAFC rumour .. Paul Cook the Pompey boss is having talks with Wigan

Unless he's having trouble with Pompey why the hell would you make that move? Cash, no doubt.Lincsaddick said:NOT a CAFC rumour .. Paul Cook the Pompey boss is having talks with Wigan

Liverpool wont sell I dont think... Loan might be bad though in a similar sense to Nathan Ake earlier this yearValley11 said:Bournemouth are preparing a £10m bid for Liverpool's 19-year-old defender Joe Gomez (The Sun)
Sell on fee?1 -
Any other owner and we could be excited about a sell-on fee. We got around £8mill for lookman by all accounts, added to the fee for Fox and what did we get out of that? Three loans and a couple of average actual signings. Personally would like to see Gomez get a chance at Liverpool once he is properly fit, maybe a loan move next year. From our point of view only RD's bank balance benefits5

Can't see Liverpool wanting to sell him and can't see Joe wanting to leave the club he supports permanently. A loan would be good move for everyone though.2

More money for Roland, great. The Red Robin said:3 -
Can't see him going permanently, when he's fit and back playing he's miles above Bournemouth level, a season loan could do him good though.0
-
I'm not sure he's what they need either, with their system and attacking style, a more defensive CB would be more beneficial, a Phil Jagielka type (or even John Terry for that matter)cafc_harry said:Can't see him going permanently, when he's fit and back playing he's miles above Bournemouth level, a season loan could do him good though.

Beckford has gone to Bury. What's that all about? He had an excellent season for Preston in League One. Surely a "bigger" club in this division might have taken a punt on him.1
-
think that's a little harsh on Bournemouth, he' still a young inexperienced defender. Agreed a loan would be a decent move for him, doubt he's ready for 40 games at the top level for Liverpool yet.cafc_harry said:Can't see him going permanently, when he's fit and back playing he's miles above Bournemouth level, a season loan could do him good though.

Potentially a big coup that for Lee Clark if he gets the form back from 2 years ago (he is 33 now though). I imagine staying in the general area must have appealed, I wonder if Blackburn or Wigan were interested in him?cafcnick1992 said:Beckford has gone to Bury. What's that all about? Joe only signed a new contract in January. I doubt he's leaving for anything more than a loan. Doubt Liverpool are anything like us ...2
