Looks and sounds as if Chrissy Powell was on top form! Today shows just how far we are away from 'proper charlton' we really are, despite being constantly told we had it back during the summer!
Recon a few players today would still manage to get into our first XI!!
Seeing today's pictures and the 'feel good factor' that radiates from the players and those there (versus the almost manufactured and laboured 'feel good' of the first team and Robinson) really has me excited and looking forward to days when this naff regime is out of sight!
Was impressed with Webster's commitment today, some proper tackles . At least if he injured someone he could give them physio afterwards!
I met Simon Webster briefly in the White Swan after the Upbeats charity walk last season. Top man, was a towering strength in our central defence in the 1990s; remember that magnificent performance against West Ham at Upton Park? He is physio for the Charlton women's team, and also heads at team of physios at a City gym near Cannon Street station. Based on his own unfortunate history of double leg-breaks (twice), he has devised revolutionary regimes that reduce recovery times.
What I loved about today was how there were various players on the pitch from different great sides of the past that hadn't necessarily played together before but still embraced the occasion of celebrating what Charlton is about.
Spent most of the night and early morning at the big fire in Snodland and by the time we left I was worried I was going to stand my lift up. Anyway he didn't get cross as he also works for the fire service and luckily we made it in time for the game.
Had a cracking time and enjoyed seeing some old heroes grace The Valley once more.

SuperClive apparently arrived just in time - after night shift and a delayed train - for the half time shootout. He then had to leave swiftly as he is on shift tomorrow morning at the Nissan factory. #footballers #changedtimes
What a great day. I have to say what a great bunch our ex players are. We ( The Museum ) representing the fans presented all the players with a copy of the Centenary book and they were really appreciative. They all played in an era where they still have to work for a living and still have a strong bond for the club. We managed to obtain some superb signed pictures which will be available to supporters in the near future. Shame a few more supporters didn't attend , you missed a treat
Was great to be at the Valley again with my sons to watch real Charlton players without giving any money to Duchatelet. Seeing the Paul Walsh cameo brought back so many memories.
Reinforced my view that the only way forward is new owners and that to go and support their team of misfits and sick notes, after so many years of these greats, only extends the time before that will happen.

Hard to think he played less than 100 games for us, seemed so many more.
Just heard that on Charltonlive, back to the car factory where he was before being a footballer, he was quite a big gambler I believe, would never have earned enough to retire I guess but still surprising to hear, in the premier he must have been on 5k a week surely?
Kish has put on a bit of weight in the last few years but, my christ, he still covered a huge amount of ground today. Has the stamina, speed and touch of a much younger bloke.

Old Div 1 and Prem years got me addicted to Charlie so would've been great to see the boys.
