I finished my first and second Alphabet in the last two days, Ziegelwiese in Germany and Zielona Góra in Poland.6

I’m presently too lazy to go to York to finish my first!Leaburns_Dead_Leg said:I finished my first and second Alphabet in the last two days, Ziegelwiese in Germany and Zielona Góra in Poland.

Hilly Fields for me yesterday. Nice and autumnal.1

Tonbridge Half this morning. Lovely morning for it and a nice route out into the country. New PB too!1
-
Folkestone Parkrun this morning - one of the friendliest runs - and wore my Charlton top. Always encouraging to get a few ‘C’mon The Addicks’ as making my way up the Leas. Decent weather this morning for a run after last week’s storm4

My improvements are continuing back at Shorne Woods today with my second fastest parkrun and age-graded score. I still need to make up almost a minute to get a new PB, though, so I would put that down in the miracle section. Unusually, Mrs Hex trailed in behind me but she has the excuse of having been ill and doing a test run tomorrow for a new local parkrun.1

My daughter's 3 medals from the European Masters Championships which conclude tomorrow in Madeira. They were, in order, 1500m, 800m and mixed relay. The backs are collector's items.

I managed to get the same time as the previous week in my 150th parkrun. I never thought I'd do that when I tentatively started Couch to 5k.AFKABartram said:
@AFKABartram You need to start experiencing other parkruns - there are plenty dotted along the A2 plus Ebbsfleet (it's got a different name) starts shortly. Mrs Hex enjoyed the course while participating in the test run last week.1 -
Even after 325 parkruns I'm still really pleased when I start getting boring, unspectacular 33.30-ish parkruns - that's my speed and I'm happy with that, even if sometimes I beat it and sometimes I don't.Hex said:

Interesting to know about Ebbsfleet - I know parkrun like a hyper-hyperlocal name, but I would have thought the developer/development corporation would have wanted it to be called Ebbsfleet! Greenwich Peninsula will have its test event very soon and should hopefully launch soon after that.0 -
It's named after the lake you run around which is named after who knows what ! (presumably the obvious geological features).InspectorSands said:

Thought the Ebbsfleet one was being called Castle Hill after the development its on. Interesting that the local coffee shop help fund it as well1

When does Ebbsfleet start? I’m miles away now but quite fancy it….0

I will post on here when it is announced. Naturally they will go for a low profile start to get their organisation running properly rather than be inundated by all and sundry wanting to be part of the first official event. When does Ebbsfleet start? I’m miles away now but quite fancy it….2 -
Another Essex one ticked off today…2

Did Hilly Fields this morning - fastest time there for five years, which is what happens when you run up those hills rather than walk...
The test event for Greenwich Peninsula parkrun is tomorrow (Sunday) - gather at 8.45am by North Greenwich Pier for a 9am start. (They want a crowd so they can see how it works when it's busy - the inaugural will probably be kept hush-hush as usually happens.)5 -

Becton parkrun for me and my girlfriend on Saturday, where we were ambushed by a man who I can only describe as having body odour that could kill a small mammal.
He proceed to speed up and slow down for the majority of the 5k until we overtook him for the final time in the last 100 metres.1 -
Feedback I've heard from some who went was that it's going to be a nightmare unless they somehow shut off the cycle path bit. Tight hairpins and not much space at all.InspectorSands said:Did Hilly Fields this morning - fastest time there for five years, which is what happens when you run up those hills rather than walk...

Should be a quick one if you're out in front though.3 -
When I’m “touristing”, I tend to get overtaken by a “wafter” at every 5th or 6th place I visit.larryorcolin said:Becton parkrun for me and my girlfriend on Saturday, where we were ambushed by a man who I can only describe as having body odour that could kill a small mammal.

Genuinely don’t know how some people can smell so bad, especially when they’ve only just started and it’s like 10 past 9 in the morning.
Even if they hadn’t showered it’s not enough time or action for some of them to be so rancid.
I, of course, still smell like a summery lavender field, even drenched with sweat and crawling through the finish funnel…..1 -
Parkrun with bit of a difference this Saturday with my running club (Danson Runners) taking on Biggin Hill at Sutcliffe Park. Have only ever run Bexley but heard it's a flat course so will be pushing for a Parkrun PB!2
