What does everyone use for Long distance running? I was using these, but feels like my ankles roll in and give me barely any support. Only worn them 6/7 times in 6 months and am looking for something different.

Many in my Club who regularly go the long distances (Marathons & Ultra's) swear by Brooks. I have my first pair now, but only just wearing them in and I don't generally run anything above a ten mile distance, so I can't personally recommend them yet.
BTW What size are they?😎
Haha 8.5, it's a shame because I'm pretty sure my fastest runs have been wearing them and they make me feel like im walking on air, but on my half last week it felt like the ankle support kinda gave out. I think I need to go to a store where they get you to use a treadmill type machine to work out your posture.
The one I went to, which won't be local to you I suppose as I'm in the midlands, did the analysis and then moulded me bespoke insoles, but it wasn't cheap and I only did it because I have a specific issue, my right knee is turned inward, which dictates my running style.
It also means I get through loads of shoes as the outside of my right heel wears quickly. I'm lucky to get 400 miles a pair 😥
I went to Sutcliffe PR today, it is fast. My Mrs and I both set PBs. Officially I was 21:05 but my watch had me sub-21 whilst suffering GPS drops, so my Strava PB is a chunk lower... Bit annoying but gives me incentive to go even faster soon and remove all doubt.
Did Kettering today and posted a PW for there, having set a PW last week for Market Harborough. I was quicker today though and the course is tougher, so moving in the right direction on my way back after a long injury lay off 😎
Anyone here use sports beans ? They are running sweets made by the Jelly Bean company. I had munchies lastnight and no sweets so eat a whole pack.... I thought I was going to have a heart attack ! Im pretty sure they would help on a marathon though if you spaced a pack out over the full run.
Run to the office today, Falconwood to Tower Bridge. Surprisingly pleasant run in just over an hour and has earned me a couple of guilt-free pub beers later.

This coming Tuesday I’m competing via my work, in the standard chartered 5k great city race. Have done so in 2019 and 2021, hoping to beat my PB.

I’ve been roped into this too. Going to be… interesting.
I usually wear a random charlton away kit but our company supplied matching tops this time so you won’t spot me.
It’s good I always do better than I think as the competitive streak kicks in due to how busy the race is, some decent runners in this one.
Never done one before, never really worked in that sort of environment but the chance came up and I thought I'd give it a go - a chance to see some people I haven't seen since the pandemic began too.
It looks pretty decent on a normal day but heaven knows what it'll be like at 37C!
Love the city 5k, apart from when some tosser barged across the road with his bike and nearly wiped me out. Have fun everyone... you'll be glad of the drinks tent afterwards
My ropey running's perked up since binning some dodgy shoes, getting my gait analysed and spending some proper money on proper shoes. Splashed out on a season pass for the RunThrough Chase the Sun runs too to get some midweek running in.
Recently did Hoblingwell parkrun, down in St Paul's Cray, which has a complex and slightly maddening course but was good fun. Went over to Barking one morning too - was prepared for something grim but it was a nice park, nice course, and all sorts of people doing it, the most diverse crowd I've seen at a parkrun.
Was up in Manchester a couple of weeks ago and did Peel Park behind Salford University - most of the volunteers were students. Also did a RunThrough event at MediaCity - with a bar right next to the finish line...
Lullingstone parkrun for me tomorrow, among the lavender. Lovely. Will be my 150th parkrun as well.

I used to do Hoblingwell a lot, proper dicey when it’s wet and Stevie Gritt ran it every time

Mrs Hex did Lullingstone for the first time today - over 7 minutes worse than her PB of a couple of weeks ago.

Not done the PR there, but used to play golf there, 35 years ago or more now, and remember it being a stunning course, but hard on the slopes, so fair play to you for running there.
I was a pace runner at Sutcliffe today. Is there a website or anything showing which Parkruns have pacers when? It's nice that it includes a volunteer tick, and being slower it can be combined with longer runs.

Don’t think so but the ones that do have pacers tend to do them at regular intervals - Charlton do second Saturday of the month, I think Hilly Fields is either last or fourth Saturday of the month.
Anyone out today? I went to Burgess (Camberwell). Finished in 21:27 and was 62nd place! Some seriously fast runners out there, and lots of people obviously. Nice to see a big PR with 300+ people. Even had a group warm down after.

Well done you. 61 people under 21.27? Think I'll stick to Corby, only 119 in total today. I was placed nicely in the middle, my fastest time since early April, but still way over my average.
My fastest ever was 23.02, at Market Harborough, but a couple of year's ago now. Doubt I'll ever break 23 though. Age catching up with me and I've deliberately slowed to make running easier.
