Was drinking with a Palace fan on Saturday. Apparently the dweeby kids that make all the noise at Selhurst have been getting a bit big for their boots, and have been demanding that the club displaces season ticket holders in the central block of the Holmesdale End so that they can move there with their drums and flags and acne. The club consulted supporters in the central block, who predictably refused to give up their seats, so the club was obliged to refuse the request. The Ultras have now thrown their toys out of the pram and basically said "if we can't have the central block then we're not coming anymore". The club has now released the seats previously used by the Ultras.
All sounds very, very palacy*.
*palacy - an adjective meaning something which is embarrasing, shameful or causing feelings of unease. For example:
"What on earth possessed him to bleach his hair and put fake tan all over his face?! I've never seen anything so palacy!"
Well this is going to ruin my Saturday night MOTD experience this season! I always look forward to Jonathan Pearce wanking over the atmosphere at Selhurst Park while he delivers completely unbiased commentary. Oh well.
I've heard that Galatasaray want to buy the Homesdale fanatics and the offer was just to good for the club to refuse. Palace are hoping to make some major transfers on the pitch with the money this will free up.
Obviously they'll need to sort out work permits and get notes from their mums but this looks likely to happen soon. The word is the Homesdale Fanatics (or the Turk Telecom Stadi Fanatics, as they will become known) may not be available for the home match against Akhisar but should be available for the away match at Ankaragücü Friday week.
Can't be bothered reading that whole Palace thread but why do they want to move anyway? They already have their own designated spot and even though i have no time for them whatsoever i can admit they do make a fair old noise, so not sure why they'd want to ruin that.
Back in the old days, the best atmosphere in my time as a Charlton fan was when we had the single tier Covered End, making a racket in the 2 end blocks. No one wanted to sit in the middle behind the goal.

I only read 2 pages but apparently they have a shit view and get wet when it rains so have demanded that, as the most important fans, existing season ticket holders get moved so that they can stay dry and see the game.
It’s a great system, the louder you sing, the better your view. Start in the wings of the stand and begin singing, if you’re louder than the fella next to you, you swap seats moving closer to the centre. By a process of elimination you get a single column of the most vocal in the middle of the stand, the next loudest around them, which fades out towards the ends of each row with the most quiet, frail, vocally impaired, etc off to the sides.
Then everyone gets out giant red, blue and black flags and start waving them about so you can’t see your more central view anyway. If by some freak chance you do get to see some of the game – about face and do a Poznan.
"Oh dear. What a shame. They've finally spat out their dummies. Won't miss them."
"Yeah but most of em are only about 12 so it wont kick off that much"
"Shown themselves up to be rather selfish if they expected people to move out of their way and I for one am glad all over that they didn't get their way"

Lol what a fucking brilliant thread. Didn’t think that lot could get more pathetic but they have managed it.

Madness. Had got disaster written all over JT.
I mean.... Good move for the Nigel’s
Surely the treatment room in Croydon is not a patch on the one in Liverpool ?
Played for them today and scored 2 and set up 1.
Doubt he would have played today if a move was that close

"This is very sad. Selhurst has always had an atmosphere but the HF lifted it to being the envy of the country."
