That said, I'm impressed I've stayed up till now as I woke up at half 8*, so there's been at least one good England innings

(*went back to bed till 11.15 but still)

(**I'll be supporting Ireland soon, but till then)
  • Ouch! Great sportsmanship from the Aussies - even from Warner!

Enjoy the trip mate, all the best! Will be following on iFollow and cheering every CAFC chant. Here's to Forster-Caskey bailing us out, or Magennis banging in a couple of headers, or Ricky scoring a wonder goal or two, or Kashi from the halfway line, or Marshall or Reeves with a first league goal, or a CB making people's bets come true!

Unfortunately so. Thankfully I've forced a BT Sport owning friend into allowing me to crash on his sofa for the next few days!

However earlier in the thread there are a couple of relatively reliable streams

Haven't seen or heard Cook criticised for his dismissal like DI Gower was in 1990/1. Poor shot selection in the circumstances.

Cook really is shit against the Aussies, barring one series over there when he scored over 700, he only averages about 18

I'd expected him to do really well this time without the pressure of the captaincy. Perhaps to early to judge, lots of cricket to still be played

To be fair, three of us in unison went up for a "for FUCK'S sake", but I was too distressed/tired to put that on CL when it actually happened!

Totally needless shot. When will he next score a half century even...

  • One of the most puzzling Captaincy decisions i've witnesed was the primary cause of Aus getting a lead. We had them by the short and curlies at lunch, and then after lunch Root decides not to bowl Jimmy and Broad .....i mean wtf !! Ball,Woakes and Ali then proceeded to bowl the most innocuous bollox for the next hour by which time Aus were breathing dowb our necks scorewise.
At the time, there was some thoght that Jimmy had an injury, but it really does highlight how we only have have 2 real bowlers and the rest are just dobbers making up the numbers.

Went to bed just as Cummins got out, pretty disappointing session after lunch as all the hard work by Broad and Anderson was undone, should have taken Plunkett over Ball.
Fully expect an Aussie victory now.
  • Ball needs to go. Its almost like Darren Stevens coming on to bowl.
I'm so angry because we had them reeling at lunch, and Roots decision means we have a 26 run deficit instead of a possible 70 run lead.
Root needs to bat all day tomorrow for us to have any chance, and the team needs to bat into day 5 for a bit too.Just cant see it happening.

That last statement is not fair on Woakes given his form over the last couple of years. Not a fan of Ball in the slightest personally and we all know Ali has done a great job but is not a top class spinner.

In these conditions, Woakes is a dobber. He proved that in this innings.
Having Ball play is just embarassing, and shows you how much Stokes is missed.

There is one good thing to come out of last night - i found a reasonable stream.
But BT really are shit in comparison to Sky. Sky really have raised the bar many notches with their cricket coverage.

Ouch! Great sportsmanship from the Aussies - even from Warner!

    What happened?
Root got hit in the grille. Starc and Warner came up to see how he was. He seemed alright and the helmet got replaced. Starc bowled him a bouncer next ball.

So that was great sportsmanship ??
  • People keep going on about Smith. Yes, very good player with a great eye, but have we ever tried to bounce him out? I dont recall there being one bouncer bowled at him whilst i was watching - yet it seems to be a staple diet for the Aus bowlers against us.or is it also a case where we dont have the bowlers to do that?
