Transfer talk: Charlton Athletic fans react to news of club rejecting Bolton Wanderers' bid for striker
Reports that the Championship club have had a bid rejected by Charlton has met with a flurry of reaction
It seems some Charlton Athletic fans would be happy to see Josh Magennis leave the club - this despite the fact boss Karl Robinson needs all the players he can get.
There are some who wouldn't, though - seeing Magennis as an honest hard worker and he has certainly proved that this season, particularly in his recent defensive work for the team.
In fact Magennis has been instrumental in the side keeping a couple of clean sheets recently, with his defensive ability and brave headers/blocks, something Robinson has appreciated and not been shy of telling people.
Go back 30 years and I would have thought I was reading about Leaburn
So true......but then Leeburn could actually score with his head.
If Leipzig are better than Everton why is everyone so sure he will walk into the team. I hope I am wrong for the kids sake as I want to see him do well but I get the feeling this move is for a squad player and he will come back once again with very little game time.

I don't think anyone is saying he'll walk into the team. But he will be at least training with good, young players. And they're not a hugely deep squad, so I do think he has a chance at playing with some regularity. It may be off the bench, but that's ok. I think impact sub us probably his level right now. But he need only look at Jadon Sancho at BVB, a couple good appearances and hard work in training, plus others going off the boil or getting injured, and all of a sudden you're first choice.
Didn't seem to progress and by all accounts looked shaky in the last couple of u23 games I saw him in. Good luck to him though reckon he'll be a late bloomer
He was but his progress hasn't met peoples expectations or that of the management it would appear. Here's what a regular at development squad games and respected poster dick plumb observed on 6th of this month:
I had high hopes for Aaron Barnes at the beginning of the Season. But he got a real roasting at left back against Norwich in the pre season friendly and has not looked the same player. I don't think Robinson trusts him. Jamie Mascoll is very left footed but is a very promising player with pace to burn.
Never say never with Roland, but if this holds true, the window could have been a lot worse. We lost Holmes, but I would say overall the squad looks stronger than it did on 31st Dec.
Are Bury still paying Ajose's wages? Don't understand why we agreed to end a season long loan deal if we weren't going to play him or loan him somewhere else.

No more information from me, I will have to wait until morning to see if Konsa is still with us, goodnight
Then just seemed to drop away.
Good luck to him.
