If you read what she said on her private Facebook group today (before she deleted a whole load of posts to hide what she'd said) it was unbelievable and shocking given the situation. You'd have thought she would want to build bridges rather than launching loads of insults at fans and telling everyone how she's better than them.

I don't agree with all the personal abuse directed at certain people, but Sue Parkes shouldn't have thrown herself so aggressively into the argument especially as it looks bad on her husband. Their son might have been upset with all the moaning about his mum but his rants on Twitter were horrific and he gave those trying to help him vile abuse.

In any other industry if the wife of someone in his position was regularly on social media claiming to know things about the inner workings of the organisation including sensitive information he would have been formally warned and then sacked long ago. It's not uncommon and I've done it before.
You weigh up;
1. How much is the redundancy/severance package. These days a lot are statutory which isn't worth a great deal 2. Depending on 1. a couple of months out of work and it's gone 3. Always easier to get a job when in a job, you have bargaining power.

I think, as mentioned on another thread, that it may be a pre requisite stated by incoming owners, therefore RD would have paid them off, but it looks better on cv to say resigned.

For what it's worth, I don't think Chris should go. If the Belgians are going to be out of the picture then this whole situation can be put to rest.
But, I also think the conduct of Sue compromised his role to the point he would've faced disciplinary action if he worked for any other company. The conduct of his son would likely have been the final straw.
I can't think of any other company which would've turned a blind eye to a senior member of staff having his wife write lies about customers, whilst also seeking to stoke up some division. Nor do I think many companies would've turned a blind eye to the son calling customers "c*nts" online, and expressing his weird fantasies were they get gassed.
