Is Duchatelet currently in a "seat or however you would describe it, or are you/we trying to prevent him from getting a "seat" ? Thanks.
As far as I can see, Duchatelet currently has a choice of approximately 20 000 empty seats at The Valley every home match. He must have bought these seats since for sure he would not be freely elected to them by the normal "residents"!
As for Belgian politics, ROT is shining a critical light on actions RD took when he WAS a councillor, so that the electorate can decide for themselves the result of a cost-benefit analysis of his contribution to the lives of people in the town. ROT has unearthed a number of costs to the town and many benefits to RD. Lots of these are on ROT's website, http://www.rolandouttoday.eu/, if you want to check them out. The process of electioneering provides opportunities which do not normally exist to publicise these matters. ROT is taking advantage of this.
RD is not personally standing in this election as far as ROT is aware - candidates do not need to be declared for a few weeks yet. However, the party "Vivant!" which he founded is putting forward candidates, in coalition with another party and as a former councillor RD has personal contact with, and the ear of the powers-that-be in the locality. Again, this has already been discussed and explained at length elsewhere on this forum.
So, RD is not in a seat. ROT is not trying to prevent him from getting a seat. ROT has a much more subtle aim in mind; using the election as a means of discrediting RD. ROT is aiming to be a pain in his ... ego.

ROT feels we have made encouraging progress this weekend.
ROT regulars were happy to welcome 4 new participants to their latest Sint-Truiden protest weekend. As you have probably already read, one of our major activities was to deliver 10 000 leaflets, acquainting the populace of some of Roland’s past actions in their town and of the latest issue about the non-payment of promised bonuses at Charlton - which may be of great relevance to them as his enterprises are major employers in the town and surrounding areas.
We have established that 12 people of average fitness could leaflet both the urban area and the outlying villages of the municipality in a normal 2-day weekend. The process is greatly helped by the universal practice of having letterboxes at the edge of each property, so you do not need to walk up and down driveways or garden paths – just go from house to house. In flats there is a bank of letterboxes in the entrance lobby – no need to climb stairs!
The inhabitants we actually met, who were gardening, getting in the car, dog-walking etc as we passed were happy to see us making our deliveries, and pleased to pass the time of day with us as we went by. It is a very friendly town. Well, maybe with the exception of one well-known resident {…} Leaflets left at Stayen were – predictably – removed within seconds of being delivered. We wondered if the receptionist was working towards a target in the hope of a promised bonus?
It turns out one of our deliveries was to the house of a freelance reporter, who is very interested in the leaflet about the Charlton non-bonuses, and contacted ROT while we were still in Belgium. It may well be worth while keeping an eye on the Belgian press this week!
Of course, we Addicks also found time to socialise – eating some very nice meals together and sampling the fermented products of grain and grape, while setting the world to right! Spending the day walking round delivering leaflets certainly seemed to work up a good appetite for both.

I admit to not being very supportive when this initiative stated, because for some obscure reason I believed that we were about to get taken over very shortly, and I could not see the point, but now I'm full of respect for what you are doing. Any degree of support will enrage Roland, and could just nudge him towards dropping his asking price to a realistic level. I hope that's not wishful thinking, he has to go some time.
