I think it's bollocks that they can't bring Virdi in - and that's speaking as a Kent fan. It's a like for like change, for a player who hasn't participated in the match yet. Show some common sense.

Especially as they would allow a player to come in mid match from a Test 13
Warks struggling against Hants and will probably have to follow on. Disappointingly Notts are making a good fist of it against Somerset (75-1) you'd have hoped the Somerset attack would have blown them away
Not been watching the stream all morning but can someone elaborate on why Surrey are complaining about the ball as they come in for lunch ?
( Apart from the fact it's not skittling out our Kent lads.....)
Not sure but, apparently, 5 different balls were used this morning. One of the ones used by us was hooping for the end of Surrey's innings but, clearly, their bowlers are struggling to use the conditions to suit them and perhaps blaming the ball for their own inadequacies?
Listening to BBC Kent there was no mention of more than one ball. it seems the bowlers were repeatedly complaining about using the one ball because at some point during play the ball had ended up covered in animal (Fox) excrement.
Apparently a numbers of players left the field to wash their hands and though the ball was cleaned they not unreasonably still wanted the ball changed.
How exactly do you propose to spit, use sweat, and lick your fingers to polish the ball knowing it was covered in s**t?
It seems ECB rules do not cover such eventuality!!!

Maybe the Surrey players will be contributing to the Charlton Life fox thread
I just can't believe how all these Surrey supporters so readily go into hiding the minute things stop going their way.
Actually I'm probably being a bit unfair - it's been going wrong all season as evidenced by the fact they've won TWO, I repeat TWO, out of 16 matches this season in all comps!

Clark bowling well here, getting some movement, need to get through this spell without further damage.
They kept saying on the stream Surrey were bowling well either side of lunch. Didn't look it to me. Although they were getting a lot of swing the bowlers didn't make the batsman play much. Doesn't matter how much it swings if it's several inches wide of the stumps and the batsman are sensible.
Comments
