The whole competition is something the teams on the Apprentice would invent!killerandflash said:
I think that potential issue has been overplayed, as in reality Sunrisers is now the name of the franchise, and they play exclusively in Leeds.Yorkshireaddick said:Northern Superchargers will be renamed Sunrisers Leeds. The original name was bad enough but to have Leeds in the new name has just lost the rest of Yorkshire. Bonkers!
After all for several year Warwickshire called their T20 side the Birmingham Bears, without massively putting off fans of Villa, West Brom, Coventry etc
The original Hundred names likes the Oval Invincibles and Northern Superchargers were awful anyway, like something the teams on the Apprentice would invent!4 -
At least the Delhi Capitals owners surely won't rebrand the Southern Brave
(Awful name I want nothing to do with Hampshire)0 -
I think you underestimate the hatred the rest of Yorkshire has for any Leeds teams. I was speaking to a fully paid up member of Yorkshire CCC on Tuesday. He lives in Bradford. No way he is going to support ‘Leeds’ he said.killerandflash said:

The oval lot were meant to represent Surrey and Kent. Now I would never support any team in this Micky mouse tournament but to think any self respecting Kent fan would support a side whos home stadium is the oval is very unlikely.5

it's a bromley/palace thing , no real identity , so will cling to anything to hopefully appear relevantKarim_myBagheri said:The oval lot were meant to represent Surrey and Kent. My Superchargers tattoo as a Xmas present to myself feels a bit redundant now5

Lot easier to manage 6 team state compos than our county fixturesCallumcafc said:Either way, one of the first things that needs fixing is the nonsense of this not being an actual twenty over competition.
With all the investment it’s unfortunately looking like it’s here to stay so we need to figure out how to make the best of it without sidelining the Test summer, the County Championship and the ODI Cup.
First place to look at is how the Aussies manage the Shield, their Test summer and the Big Bash and go from there.0 -
Franchise players surprised when they are treated like, well, franchise players. Can anyone recall an instance when one, let alone two, county captains weren't told that their services were no longer required?

This is what the players wanted, so now they have to live with it. They voted in their PCA ballet to sell out county cricket and one day cricket for it.Addick Addict said:Franchise players surprised when they are treated like, well, franchise players. Very poor not to tell Billings, considering he's captained them in all 5 years, winning the last 3.Addick Addict said:Franchise players surprised when they are treated like, well, franchise players. But then, I'm not sure who would actually tell him, seeing that they aren't a club in the normal sense, with long standing management and committees etc. The coaches are as transient as the players.
And there was a smiley after his tweet, so it wasn't as if he was hitting out.0
