If they turn it down does that mean we have him in January or is the deal null and void and he is a Brighton player now?
I would have thought we would want the deal to just roll in to Jan..... we will need a striker anyway. And we wanted him anyway. That’s one less thing for Bow and Gallen to think about in 4 and a bit months time
think we have signed him, it's just the registration that's the issue.
Below are the EFL Guidance Notes, seems there is wriggle room.
Application of the Deadline
The League’s policy is that a Club will be deemed to have met the deadline if this office receives a completed copy of the appropriate registration form (G1/G2, H1, EFL6) or loan form (H4) in advance of the deadline determined by The League in advance of each Transfer Window. If the Player is a Contract Player, then a copy of the relevant completed parts of the Standard Contract must be received by the League either before the specified time or immediately following. A short application process has been created within the online registration system to enable this to happen as we approach the closure of each transfer window. Similarly, if a Player is transferring his registration with an agreement between a Transferor Club and a Transferee Club, a copy of such an agreement must be received by the League either before the specified deadline or immediately following. It is expected that any Standard Contract or transfer agreement must have been agreed before the deadline and that the only reason for any delay resulting in these being received immediately following the deadline is due to prioritising the transmission of the appropriate registration form or loan form. A Club will still be deemed to have met the deadline if, even after the deadline, amendments are requested by the League to correct errors or omissions in the documents already submitted, but both the League and the FA will not complete the registration of the Player until the amendments are provided and found to be in order.
A Club will still be deemed to have met the deadline for submission of documents even if the Intermediary forms and Representation Agreements are received after the deadline. The FA has also confirmed that they would accept these documents after the registration deadline but both the League and the FA will not complete the registration of the Player until the documents are provided.
Told you what I would do to get a response......go public. Tell the media he will be in the 18 tomorrow & put him on the bench. EFL will have to act then. Cant believe how passive we are being.
Or buy him a burger......that always gets their ire.
We don't know if we are being passive as we don't know what is going on behind the scenes.
We might well be being passive but we might equally be issuing all sorts of threats and demands.
Of course, we could take your advice and say "we're going to play him, regardless" and the league respond "Do that and you'll lose three points, be fined and as you've gone outside of the proper process your application to have the transfer ratified automatically fails"
Something has gone awry someone but we don't know where or who. Maybe we were in the wrong and they are trying to find a way of doing us a favour. Unlikely but we just don't know.

LB said at his press conference yesterday that Steve Gallen had chased them by email & was waiting for an answer............so we do know we have asked them & are still waiting.
The thing is I'm not one to sit idly by & just hope that someone is dealing with something. On a daily basis I am chasing up lenders, insurance companies, investment house etc. As I said, if this was me & one of my clients I wouldn't just be waiting for an answer a week after a supposed deadline, especially if I had then sent a chaser email earlier this week. I'd be getting on the blower & giving someone the hairdrier treatment. Could you see Sir Alex sitting in his office twiddling his thumbs waiting to see if he could play Ronaldo against Liverpool this weekend............

Go and buy the football club and make your staff do as you say then.

The EFL have finally issued a statement. And it's mixed news. They've finally completed all the paperwork relevant to Charlton and registered everything within their own systems. They're not totally certain it's gone smoothly, but, as it's complete and "in the system", there's nothing they can do now to change it.
The outcome is that, while Tomer Hemed's registration does not allow him to play for the club this weekend, he is, in fact the new owner of Charlton Athletic.
He'll be spending the next few months trying to track down some Australians and Europeans to sell the club to, by the time the next window opens.
Roland isn't available for comment. But we can expect a statement fairly soon...
Is it the FA or the EFL, then. @LouisMend on radio said it was the EFL's issue but I thought it was the FA that deal with this stuff. Either way, it's lamentable. Especially if it's the FA.

And how do you know that Gallen isn't doing just what you suggest right now?
You don't.
You also don't now what response, if, Gallen has received.
