This is per Kit Graham's "free transfer" to Spurs; do communication issues pervade the whole Charlton family?
    What players contract extension?

  • While we don't know if Hemed is officially on our payroll, if he is not, and things are not settled by 12am tomorrow, potentially Hemed has been excluded from three matches, one which we lost on penalties preventing a lucrative tie against a Prem team and the chance to progress in a cup. Hemed may have lost wages and win bonuses. All because the football authorities could not make s timely decision.

If they were too tied up with Bolton, Bury, and Macclesfield, they passed the owners as fit and proper persons.

Bournemouth A in the 2nd round of the Carabao Cup cannot in all reasonableness be described as lucrative.
Unless you're suggesting we were going to draw Man U or Arsenal.
C End, the point is the draw was against a Prem side. EFL don't know how many would turn up, nor do they care how much revenue we potentially lost. They delayed a decision, depriving us if a goalscorer, with no reason or transparency
I know the EFL are poor. However, I think if the majority of fans know Bournemouth v Charlton in L2 of the Carabao Cup will attract an attendance of less than 5,000, I think they will too.

Sorry, but it cannot be described as a lucrative game for Charlton, unless you describe virtually every game played as lucrative.

Lucrative means making a great deal of profit.
  • That's rich coming from FA. Pot, kettle, Hemed.

How about Brighton cancelled his contract and his new contract is of a different duration - possibly longer - and therefore needs re registering rather than just transferring and whatever permit malarkey there might be associated with it ? That and possibly the efl or fa shouldn’t have cancelled one registration before confirming the new one, particularly if the new one was submitted 35 seconds late???
Every full signing is a transfer of contract.
Yes but the problem is with the registration, not the contract?
Wouldn’t be a problem if Brighton cancelled his contract so that’s incorrect. It’s also wrong that you just transfer a contract to another club unless it’s a loan.
I'm talking about transferring registration details not contracts - lets leave it, its only a theory

    Thanks.

Seems strange that Charlton would not extend a contract of a player that then moves to Spurs.

It may have had another airing there but the photographer was at Accrington and so was I 😉

That's the point; with Graham Charlton say they did. But she's moved anyway. FA are saying tough; Charlton threaten litigation for compensation.

For Hemed, we say we did it right, and the FA pass it back to the EFL; who's right, and who's wrong?
  • Can 100% guarantee that that photo is at Accrington, where the banner got its first airing.

  • The banner got it's first airing in my living room.
  • Why didn't we use the same Uber driver for Hemed that we used for Kayal ?
Dartford lane going right off M23 not Heathrow lane going Left.
By the time Hemed got to Sparrows lane and passed medical we were timed out.

Bad idea to become a taxi driver Stephen Kelly !

  • Fuck sake the guy is going to be retired before this is settled

  • Well they've allowed Oztumer... Is it now Hemed's turn?

He was out of contract so no issues at all
  • edited August 2019
Oztumer quit, he was not out of contract in time for the window. His contract ran til 2020, hence why the FA had to check that Bolton had no issue with him quitting.

Depends... Could have been registered but not announced.

If it is accepted that the transfer was legal, surely he will have been our player when we put in the paper work.
  • Any legitimate theories on why this is taking so long?

  • Just sue the wankers.
  • Golfie is absolutely right.  If Charlton have done the right thing (filled in the right bits of paperwork, sent the right emails to the right people) then they should simply declare he's going to be in the squad tomorrow.  That will invite a response from the EFL (or whoever has most recently been passed the parcel).  That way we would actually know what the issue is an we would know what needs to be done to be extricated from this farcical debacle.
  • Told you what I would do to get a response......go public. Tell the media he will be in the 18 tomorrow & put him on the bench. EFL will have to act then. Cant believe how passive we are being.

Or  buy him a burger......that always gets their ire.
We don't know if we are being passive as we don't know what is going on behind the scenes.

We might well be being passive but we might equally be issuing all sorts of threats and demands.

Of course, we could take your advice and say "we're going to play him, regardless" and the league respond "Do that and you'll lose three points, be fined and as you've gone outside of the proper process your application to have the transfer ratified automatically fails"

Something has gone awry someone but we don't know where or who.  Maybe we were in the wrong and they are trying to find a way of doing us a favour. Unlikely but we just don't know.

I'm just keeping my fingers crossed big style. We really need this guy and soon
  • Ummmm... What? Extension? What?
  • What are the chances that the 'massive favour' the authorities have done us with the EO transfer, is gonna be a double edged sword?  The FA reckon we owe them a good deed in return, e.g. stop rattling their cage on the TH transfer.  Now the headcount is up, the 13th signing has been confirmed: roly twunt will renege on the budget for TH's transfer and salary, cos all players are interchangeable huh and just cos I can cos I'm a twunt.
