I haven't waded through the whole thing yet, but it's interesting that Eddie Nketiah is listed as a witness for the FA. I wonder if that still would have been the case if he'd still been on loan at Leeds.
I wonder if that is the reason his loan was terminated early. Either he didn’t like playing and training with a racist or Leeds were unhappy he was a witness for the prosecution.

EN = Eddie Nketiah KC = Casillas page 49
We reminded ourselves that in his witness statement EN had confirmed that he had
heard KC say something after the Corner. He stated ‘all I heard was fucking’; he said
that he could not hear whether anything else had been said by KC. Although EN also
gave oral evidence before us, we were not assisted by that oral evidence.
The best that we could take from their evidence was thus that, whatever KC had
said, it had not been heard by any of his own players. Page 50.
That's absolutely shameful beyond belief. Now knowing what was said it makes the statement from Leeds even more despicable. I can honestly say that if a Charlton player said that to a fellow pro (or anyone) then I would agree with them being sacked regardless of who they were. For Leeds instead to mope about 'probability' and try and rile up their fanbase knowing what went on is unforgivable. Casilla has got a less harsh ban than Sturridge got for gambling. This game and everyone in it is such a mess.
Just read the lot. Very thorough. I fully understand the impetus for somebody to backtrack on what they say when said in the heat of the moment. In my experience as a Sunday League referee invariably if I challenged a player for calling somebody something, the initial response would be 'I was yelling at my mate'....not the opponent, not the referee. So what it looks like to me is that Casilla was well out of order, but thought it would be one mans word against another and he could wing it, especially if enough people repeated what a good guy he really is. I am amazed at the detail that is included in the report, and I suspect Casilla is too. Goodness knows how much money and time has gone into this affair, but it is often asked when the F.A. are going to do something, or take things seriously. Well in this regard, whatever else the effort put in suggests that the F.A. has done something, and taken it seriously. A refreshing contrast to the previous laissez faire Sopranoesque shrug of the shoulder response with a 'waddya gonna do?' It is a very difficult thing to deal with and this case has shown the F.A. has tried. Reading it i have to say i agree with the verdict of the F.A.
Can’t really fault the FA, IMO. And the sensible reaction of a number of Leeds fans to our club statement shows they’re not all wankers.
I think we can fault them for taking FIVE months to get to this conclusion and also for not publishing at least an abbreviated summary of findings simultaneously. In the meantime both Leko and Bonne have received more abuse from some Leeds "fans". FA have aggravated that situation by not tackling the issue quickly.

Fair points. It was certainly too slow. But I do appreciate the detail and clarity of the FA findings. Thorough, painstaking and (ultimately) an understandable conclusion.

The numbskull Leeds fans who have abused them on Twitter would have done so had it taken the FA 5 seconds, 5 minutes, 5 hours, 5 days, 5 months or 5 years to have come to it's conculsion
Just read through the FA's 62 page report and conclusions. Although there have been concerns regarding the time this has taken, the FA do appear to have conducted a thorough investigation and 2 day hearing.
Aside from the general reputational damage, 8 game ban, £60K fine and bearing the (likely considerable) costs of a 2 day hearing, I can imagine Casilla's standing will not be high amongst his own teammates. I see Tyler Roberts will have known Leko from their West Brom days and he will appreciate how tough and courageous it will have been for a young black player to have to go through this process near the start of his career.
Glad he is back for the game against us and I hope he plays.
Will give us a chance to let him know what we think of racist scum.
not just him. the whole club should be ashamed. it baffles me that they put out that statement after the ruling. surely they would of seen/heard the evidence?
I am shocked the BBC have printed the actual words he used, I though they may have gone for something like F*****g N****r, still I prefer it that way so good on them.

Yeah when I saw that at the start I thought it was going to be the smoking gun! It wasn’t really, he basically said he’d heard something but it was pretty nondescript.
The real stupidity of all this in the modern game is that all the players operate in a goldfish bowl and every squad has 'black' players. The fact that Jonathan Leko was Whatapping Tyler Roberts about this whilst be was travelling back from the game on the Leeds coach tells you just how stupid Casilla has been here. Insulting his own team mates and supporters as well as an opposing player.
What makes it for me is that Casilla was condemned not by the evidence of Bonne and Leko but by his own attempts to build an "unbreachable defence" by claiming he had never heard the N word which was not believed by those considering the evidence. Leeds fans slavishly defending Casilla without having heard the evidence should now be having a word with themselves.

Disgraceful, the BBC should have written L****s United
Leeds still havent put anything on their twitter I see, nothing about The FA releasing the document, they clearly know it goes against their initial statement and makes them look like twats
Comments
"You fucking N*****" actual words used.
Bonne and Leko credible and reliable witnesses.
Casila not a credible or reliable witness.
Casila's claim that he can't have used the N word as he didn't know the word rejected.
The Leeds coach not a credible or reliable witness.
Ref a credible witness
Level of evidence much higher than the minimum required.
But you can guarantee Leeds and SOME of their fans will still defend Casila.
EDIT From Twitter a lot of Leeds fans not defending Casila now they have seen the report.
Kiko Casilla: Leeds United goalkeeper says he was 'unaware' racist term existed

If I get in trouble with the law I want Macauley Bonne to provide evidence on my behalf, looks like he was a very credible witness in this case.
Why can't they just admit their guilt, apologise, accept their punishment be re-educated and volunteer to support BAME charities?
