Awful news.  Condolences to his family & friends.  Never met him, but was well aware of his passion for the club from CL posts and tales from friends.  Sorry I never got the chance to meet him.  The  Incredible amount of posts on CL, Twitter and club FB page, shows what he meant to us.  I hope his family can take some comfort from this.  Stay safe fellow Addicks.

Seb, may you rest in peace.
  • Football uses the term legend far to frequently. A club has lots of heroes and just a very very few legends. Not many clubs will have “just” a supporter that actually becomes a club legend. I think Charlton Athletic are a unique club in lots of ways and it’s perhaps apt that they had a unique supporter. Seb you are part of the history of the football club as legend and hero. A small band indeed.

I hope that Seb can be remembered in the appropriate way once our current times subside.

Should be this be the wishes of the Lewis family.

Such desperately sad news that will touch every corner of the Addicks family, Seb was part of the Charlton furniture, as others have said, an ever present no matter how 'many miles have you travelled'.

I last saw his famous worm coming out of the Hawthorns earlier this season and well remember the one on the embankment leaving Carlisle after promotion.

One true memory was from an early St Truiden trip for the Stayen Cup, to retrieve his flag he had to walk through @Henry Irvings bedroom, the following morning as were leaving to check out, he was waiting patiently in the corridor, he didnt want to knock and disturb Ben.

His flag flies proudly in the museum and I am sure will stay there, a true Charlton legend.

    Ha, had forgotten that.

  • Rest in peace, a true Charlton legend who will never be forgotten.

He embodied what a true Charlton was, so very sad and unexpected, RIP Seb you will be missed by us all.
  • It will seem very strange to go to the Valley and not see his flag. It won't feel like Charlton....

I never knew Seb, know  his story when he was introduced on the pitch that evening.

There's  a little bit of Seb in all of us Addicks I like to think.
    Love & respect.

Apart from the obvious sadness, this virus is going to prevent "the Charlton family" from paying their tributes to him on his final journey.

Whilst funerals are exempt from some of the regulations, I believe that the numbers are restricted and to be honest no one is going to want to be in large gatherings.

Maybe someone can come up with a suitable tribute when things get closer than normal, that is more than a minutes clapping.

    RIP Seb!

Indeed. A work colleague had his Dads funeral today and only his Mum, siblings and  partners were allowed to attend.

    Class from Powell.
The use of ‘we’, as always, is brilliant.
Seb would’ve been proud I’m sure

Been working all day so just seen this.

Like others on here I have never met him personally but seen him on plenty of occasions. A true legend at our great club who will be sadly missed. My thoughts go out to all of his family and close friends in what must be very difficult times.

    RIP Seb

RIP Seb. Only managed a nod to acknowledge a fellow Addick on the train home after a game last year. Wish I had extended that into a conversation.

Full of admiration for his devotion to supporting Charlton. A remarkable achievement that will surely be recognised by the club and fellow fans once things return to relative normality.

I never met Seb,but from the comments on here he was obviously a loved and respected man, devoted to Charlton. It is doubly tragic  that he left us at a time when our club was in such dissaray, his devotion and indeed the devotion of all of us deserves better than the current shambles. It is astonishing that at one end of the scale we have Seb Lewis who lived for his club, and the other a slime bag who would think nothing of destroying it to further his own means. In memory of Seb,the slime bag must not win.

Not sure if this has been mentioned on previous pages, but if anyone here has connections to the club and particularly the merchandise section could some pin badges be produced, similar to the poppy and CAFC badge, or at least for one season the figure 1076 (which I think is the consecutive games he attended) be added to the new kit if there is one next season.

Also perhaps a round of applause in the 10th/76th minute etc.

    Just some thoughts.
