"Lee Bowyer split his team up, playing two different 11s in each half."
That's 2 different games we lost today.
The first game was only 2-0; wearing my renowned rose-tinted specs, that's a decent scoreline against top class opposition, away from home.
The 2nd game, unfortunately finished in a 4-0 defeat, although not too bad a scoreline from our U23 development team.
Shame we actually played the Under 23's first then eh?
I've no idea haha. Mine was just a spoof comment to make light of what appears to be a 6-0 thumping.
Whichever way you look at, today was just a training exercise - a run out against quality opposition and a chance to work on team shape and tactical play under match conditions.
I doubt if Bowyer will be too bothered about the actual result - more about passages of play and off the ball awareness, although I'm sure he'll be looking to see what might be, erm .... improved upon.
As Bows will no doubt say ...... all the lads got some minutes in them.

Believe the other player is Morgan..?
Must have been substitutions with some players getting less than 45mins
Phillips | Amos | Purrington | Page | Matthews | Lapslie | Lockyer | Pearce | Sarr | Oshilaja | Forster-Caskey | Cullen | Williams | McGeady | Field | Oztumer | Aneke | Green | Bonne | Hemed | Smith | Doughty | Pratley | Field all been seen
Certainly cant see reason for Morgan not to be involved, might struggle to get game time with a fully fit midfield but certainly no reason to deny him minutes just in case
Don’t think the players will feel too bothered morale wise. They got to play at a world class stadium against some world class players. Chasing the ball for 90 mins is better than 2-3 days of training. We’d never get the chance to play Arsenal in a regular pre season.

To think it seems like yesterday that we turned over a better Arsenal team than this one 4-2 at their home ground

This means that Smith, Field, and Davison all came off the bench and therefore, 3 other players did not get a full 45 minutes.
Aneke looked really bright in the few clips Arsenal showed. As @ForeverAddickted said he was unlucky to not score.
I believe now Taylor has said he won’t play, we could see more of a 4-4-1-1 formation with either Williams, Aneke or Oztumer behind the main striker. It allows us to play with McGeady, Doughty, Green, and sometimes Williams our wide. Bonne and Hemed will therefore rotate.

I've not seen Davison anywhere to be honest?
Although apart from that photo I didnt see Field either, plus he was in shot with Purrington so meant he was involved in the first half?
Unless he got 10mins towards the end and replaced someone like McGeady
That must be one of the strongest teams we've played since the PL days, as on the rare occasion we've played someone decent in the Cups, the PL team would usually rest a few players
But seeing a match report which says that Lacazette and Aubameyang scored in the 1st half shows the calibre of player we were up against

Your next job @Sage is to work out the Arsenal players so we can see if the 1st half team faced the least experienced team or whether their 2nd half team was stronger
Edit or you could just jump on the Arsenal website, doesnt get much stronger than that!!

Nothing could be done about the first, slightly poor from Oshilaja for their second
First half they looked unlucky, second half they looked disinterested
Good to see aneke finally fit
