Is that a lovely chest down assist from Purrington (?) for the first goal?
No, Maitland Niles nodded down into Lacazette’s path

I've been wrong twice in this thread already. Warming up very nicely for the season restart

Chuks Aneke scoring a hat trick nailed on. He definitely has a point to prove

@Sage... You should reconsider helping out with the chairs next Bromley Addicks meeting with this type of comment ;)

Anyone got definative line ups and substitutions?
    First half:

    Phillips
    Matthews Oshilaja Pearce Purrington
    Green Cullen Forster-Caskey McGeady
    Aneke
    Hemed

Field came on in the first half, presumably for Forster-Caskey, but that’s a guess.

    Second half:

    Amos
    Lapslie Lockyer Sarr Page
    Williams Pratley Morgan Doughty
    Oztumer
    Bonne

Smith and Davison came on in second half. I think Williams may have been one of the players who didn’t complete the full second half, Page possibly the other.

I’m pleased that Solly missed out on the chance to play at his favourite Emirates, hopefully in the next game Taylor will miss out on playing on thirty bloody pieces of silver....

The big positive is that it could have been Palace that whacked us.
They drew with Arsenal home and away this season mind the gap

    Fuck 'em.

Just watched highlights and it looked like:

Aneke caused a couple of problems, but lacked the final ball.

Dils made some good saves, 3 or 4

Amos had one good point blank block, but was otherwise beaten by every shot according to the highlights.

Just checked the twitter accounts of those around us in the League and looks like no one else played today apart from Middlesbrough who had a in-squad training match

Sets us up for being more match fit than the others.

    The play-offs are coming.

That's 25 players we've used and not an apprentice in sight. We certainly aren't short of numbers and have all bases covered apart from possibly right back and our former talisman up top.

    First half Arsenal team:

    Leno
    Bellerin Mustafi David Luiz Tierney
    Maitland-Niles Guendouzi
    Nelson Özil Aubameyang
    Lacazette

Very strong first half team from Arsenal.
I imagine Pearce will wake up in a cold sweat tonight thinking about that attacking lineup!

From the highlights, Aneke looked like he caused problems. Hit the post and had a great header saved by Leno

I think he has to try something different for these 9 games. We are nowhere near as potent attacking teams without taylor, personally I'd go with this

                   Phillip's

    Matthew's Lockyer sarr doughty

       Pratley   field   cullen

           Oztumer  William's

                    Bonne

If someone had said a few months ago that we would be playing a summer friendly against a 1st team Arsenal side, at the Emirates, refereed by Grant Basey - I'd have asked them what drugs they were on.
It's 2020 anything and everything is possible this yesr

I like the idea and get what you're going for in that system but for me both William's and Ozzy (I'm a big fan of both btw) like to get on the ball much deeper and influence play from there which would leave Bonne quite isolated. I would rotate the 2 of them (no way is Jonny gonna play 2 games a week for 5 weeks) and have either Chucks there to give a physical presence or Green to offer a pacey option dragging the defenders wider.

I reckon we are gonna go 4231 though. We have so many players who can play in the 3 (Doughty, McGeady, Chucks, Jonny, Ozzy, Green) it makes sense to make better use of them. Beside the diamond hasn't worked so well since we haven't had Gallagher to fill that role, besides the second half against Luton when Lapslie had a blinder there.

Wow it was good to talk about actual football again.

I don't know why but the idea of Grant Basey being the ref is really cracking me up. What a mess football is at the moment. I also find it oddly satisfying that this was Solly's chance to play at the Emirates as a boyhood Arsenal fan and he didn't get to because he was on tantrum strike. I'd like it if Bowyer asked Arsenal for the match just to piss him off

It was just a kick about. A training game.

There is something satisfying about the fact it was probably Sollys only chance to play at The Emirates(unless he gets lucky in the FA Cup next season) and its gone for him
