Field came on in the first half, presumably for Forster-Caskey, but that’s a guess.
Second half:
Amos Lapslie Lockyer Sarr Page Williams Pratley Morgan Doughty Oztumer Bonne
Smith and Davison came on in second half. I think Williams may have been one of the players who didn’t complete the full second half, Page possibly the other.
If it wasn't for Phillips we could've been 5 down at half time.
Marking in the second half was appalling. About 4 men unmarked at a set piece and Nketiah was given about 15 yards free to run on and score.
Not looking good defensively.
I mean to be be fair it was against Arsenal, a team that scored 4 against Newcastle and 3 against Everton in the last couple of months before lockdown.
They are also a week ahead of us, and lets face it just 1 of their players is on more than our whole squad put together.
I mean for what they spent on Pepe you could buy The Club, Sparrows Lane , The Valley and what we have bought every current player for and you would still have money left over lol
I think playing in empty stadiums is going to produce some strange results. As a pp has said, we looked at all sea in the 2nd half & looked like the defence had given up. Wouldnt surprise me if we see quite a few results like that in the weeks to come. Teams with no support behind them wont just have the passion or urge to play "out of their skins". No last 10 min pressure to grab that equaliser/ winner. With no crowd urging them on to force corner after corner.
I think once a team is 2-0 then that will be that, epecially if its top v bottom or a team with nothing to play for.
When we do play Champ matches I'd like to see both Pratley and Field play together. I think Cullen, Ward, Williams, Oztumer, Mcgeady have enough to break teams down. The main worry is I remember Hemed being effective with his head and we're not that sort of team from open play. We all know the issue is without Taylor where will the goals come from?

Yesterday was a strange result, I was not expecting a 6-0 defeat.
I like it if we're looking to play 4-2-3-1. Think with McGrady and Green we have a couple of wide players who can give defenses fits. More attacking than 5-2-1-2. And I don't think the diamond has worked all that well since we lost Gallagher. We really need someone in one of the side roles who can drive forward and create. We just don't really have that player apart from maybe Williams and maybe JFC if he's fully fit and firing. But both have roles they're better suited to.
I thunk 4-2-3-1 give our defense good protection with two midfielders from Cullen, Field, JFC, Smith, and Pratley, plus a lesser dependence on strikers through the middle and instead offsetting players like Williams or Aneke off the forward (Bonne and Hemed can play up front on their own), plus McGready and Green playing in their preferred positions--out wide, with Williams and Oz also able to play there. And we have three #10s in Aneke, Oz, and Williams.
I desperately hope Chuks stays fit. He's my dark horse to play a major role in the run in if fit. He can pick the ball up and drive at defenses. And he seemed to give some defenses fits early in the season.
If Page is fit it gives Bowyer the option of 5-3-2 with overlapping full backs.
Lee seems to prefer two up front so Aneka, Hemed, Green or Bonne up top. Cullen and either Pratley or Field holding, Williams, Aneke or Oz behind the front two.
Three of Pearce, Osiliga, Lockyer and Sarr at the back.
Philips a given in goal.
JFC could be a wild card as could Lapslie and Dougherty.
But we know Bows picks teams for the opposition so he will change it around for that and rotate to rest players.
Just been on Palace's Twitter to see if they confirm anything, they're instead advertising that they're now the world's oldest professional club.
I know that was mentioned on here but I didn't think those morons would run with it. So bloody desperate and cringe worthy.
They are pathetic. This'll "oldest club" thing will be on written on their shirts next season, just like the boroughs of South London thing a couple of years ago.
I'd be genuinely embarrassed if I'd had the misfortune of being born a Palace fan.
I know they have won nothing and done nothing in their history but imagine how crap they must have been that they managed to forget they were formed in 1861 and have instead publicised their founding in 1905 ever since! Almost as if they wanted to be noticed for the first time in 1905 for some reason....
at least the team got some 'real' game time up against top opposition .. the thing is not to let the 6-0 damage morale but make it act as an incentive not to get hammered ever again, even in a friendly

Oshilaja is already into next week after being sent there for Aubamayang's goal

Good to see Page and Chuks out there too and to use 25 players shows there is some depth there if required.

Really dont get why Aneke chose to shoot from looked like a tight angle, he did well to get into the position though
If we lose Dills for any reason we’re in trouble.
