Barnsley threatening EFL ahead of Disciplinary action for Wednesday, Derby & Birmingham

If they do not dock Wigan 12points, then Barnsley will be relegated. All hell will be let loose.

So cheating has been endorsed by the EFL. Not surprised to be honest maybe they should apply a transfer embargo over 2 or 3 windows on them so they can’t spend their I’ll gotten gains. Maybe that would deter others.0

WEDNESDAY DEDUCTED 12 POINTS NEXT SEASON.
What a fiddle.0 -
I'm confident they could be successfully sued using their own rules and the strange delaying tactics of this hearing.
I would bet everything that they delayed the outcome as far as they could. And I don't think it would be too hard to prove. If it looks like a turd, and it smells like a turd and it even tastes like a turd, you can be sure what it is.1 -
They've completely had us here, how they can't apply it this season is beyond me, it's farcical and I hope someone sues over it, be it Wigan, Barnsley or us, or a combination of all 3.2

Bet Macclesfield feel great right about now...
Both them and Wigan get points deductions this season, another team get their deduction next season yet got charged first4 -
If Wigan lose the appeal they'll sue as they'll ask why wasn't there's applied next season, if Wigan win the appeal Barnsley will sue as then they'll go down, and we should be suing anyway5

Was the length of the hearing reasonable? That is where I would start digging.0

If you don’t get relegated with that level of cheating what is the point. Farcical.2

Let the longest, most expensive panto EVER begin !

Which may have meant a different EFL decision on the punishment. ESI have screwed us in every way possible. And where is a statement from them? They are too interested in continuing to screw us.1
-
I assume our 'owners' are going to publish a statement outlining their anger over this verdict2
-
Where’s piggy? Proved your club/owner is an absolute cheat.
This will never be forgotten, you can never claim a success because your club are cheats. The lowest of the low in sport. Nothing but contempt for your club.1 -
Tomorrow I'll be contacting the EFl asking for a full explanation of this suspended punishment. These bastard's can't get away with this!

Combination of all 3 sounds like the best way to get some proper answers. If it was just Charlton we would be told no running commentary2 - Sponsored links:

They have only got to win 4 games more than the bottom 3 and hey ho here we go,football is rotten from top to bottom, from FIFA right down to the EFL.All the time these organisations are not accountable to anyone, the brown envelopes will keep changing hands.2

They were charged this season, their hearing was this season, the verdict was announced this season............but the punishment is applied next season. How does that work?0 -
Fucking disgrace.
Farnell needs to be fighting this or finding owners who can instead of dicking around trying to get his mate in the door. Acting in the best interest of the club my arse.
If Wednesday hasn't been so shit this year and 12 points wouldn't have relegated them you can be sure the decision would have been to deduct it this season.
I'm fuming.3 -

Sheff Weds scored against us in the 95th minute and we dropped 1 vital point in that match that would have kept us up. Would they have gotten that last minute equaliser without the players or squad depth they cheated their way to buying? All ifs and buts - but the fact is that they benefitted from their cheating this season and at least one team who suffered as a direct result will be relegated in their place.
Okay. We should have done better in any of our other matches. But fuck I feel like we‘ve been hard done by in several matches especially towards the end of the post-lockdown and this is just another shit sandwich to have to choke down3 -
I think they should not play the play off final as they have effectively declared the season is over!2

For some reason doesnt get it that for all the teams on those Payments, the are more in this league that arent currently benefiting from them yet are managing to comply with FFP and compete2 -
Bet Swindon Town wish the EFL had been so gutless back in 19906
-
I think the defence Wednesday fans have used in the past is that it is ok to cheat because of the Premier League parachute payments to clubs that have failed. It is an argument that facts show to be wrong as these clubs don't tend to do that well on it. In fact, it does sort of justify transitional money to stop these clubs going bust.0
