Was a performance that reminded me of the Reading away game

Went there, got the job done (nothing fancy) and for the most part let them have the ball

With everyone back hopefully we'll see more performances like that rather than uneven teams thrown together in almost desperation

    So happy.

Good battling performance, more reminiscent of the first 15 matches of the season rather than the next 20 or so. Bodes well for the further battles ahead (though Hull were woeful, especially up front).

Kamara “Bowyer got them organised for the perfect away performance”. High praise indeed.

For those that watched, what did Morgan do well?  seems to be getting rave reviews , which is great to see.  I’ve always been a fan but Lee hasn’t always .

I imagine Wilks, Honeyman and McCann have had enough of us by now.

Hull look a lot worse than us over the 2 games we played, i dont think they have enough quality to stay up.

We should have scored a couple more today but hopefully we are saving them for somebody else...3rd of July would be nice.

Hemed played pretty well today. He could be vital now keeping us up and i never thought id say that!

An away win and a clean sheet to start our post-lockdown season. Shame we couldn’t score more.

    Massive result.

Still worried that we appear to be a little clueless when we get near their goal - we should definitely have made it more comfortable with the chances we had and better teams will punish us.

Still, very impressed with the spirit of the side; Bows has got them fighting to stay up, which is half the battle.

Very decent all round performance, given the inevitable rustiness after such a long lay off. A couple of players were off the pace but that was massively outweighed by those who performed so well. Particular credit goes to Matthews, Lockyer, Pearce, Cullen, Pratley and Albie Morgan, who in the first half was one of the best players on the pitch. Also pleased with Hemed and Doughty in the second half.

One down, eight to go. Our fate is well and truly back in our own hands.

    Good solid performance,
Paul Elliot clapping off the players with Sue Parks at the end
    That win is for Seb

Huge three points, season can end tomorrow for all I care
    Well done Charlton

I bet Sue is proper pissed that she’s had to bring her own sandwiches...

Hoarse from shouting. But one of those results we just haven't had this season. Before the break we absolutely concede the equalizer.

Me 90+1:20 "Has Pratley been booked? Pratley hasn't been booked yet. This is a brave new world."

90+1:40 Pratley lunges in for a challenge and gets booked.

    Atta boy.
    You jinxed him mate :-)

Okay this is weird... when I checked the table at HT, it showed us already with 42 points. On BBC and Sky. Do they update the table DURING matches based on the scores? They never do that in sports here. I kept looking at the table and thinking... the match is not over, how are we in 19th?

    Phew

Hull looked very poor, I can't see them getting out of the bottom 3 now, indeed it wouldn't surprise me if Barnsley and Luton overtake them as well. Really surprised they didn't play Magennis with Eaves, as their tactics were meat and drink for Lockyer, Pearce and Matthews until the last few minutes when they Lewis-Potter and Samuelson came on.

Excellent defensive performance, as expected without LT we lacked that final 10% of quality up front. Hemed looked good, but Bonne wasn't that effective and Aneke made little impact

Pleased with Morgan and Hemed, McGeady put in a good shift too. Cullen was a beast in midfield though his set pieces were variable.

We go from 3rd from bottom to 6th from bottom after just one game. Only goes to show what complete and utter crap deciding leagues by PPG is!!!!!
The text book definition of a 6 pointer.

He picks a pass like no one else in this team.

Massive win. Massive relief. Should have been more comfortable as we got into multiple good positions but failed to apply the final touch. Lots of positives though with some really bright attacking play, particularly from Hemed and Morgan, which is great because we need someone to step up and fill the holes left by Taylor and Gallagher.

Thought we looked fitter and more motivated than Hull, which is a good sign but there will be tougher tests to come. It’s a good start though.

Great result and a really solid performance (hope I can offer the same to the Missus later).

Hemed had his best game for us. Morgan showed he is the player we know he can be. Everybody put a shift in and we fully deserved the points.

Hull are in serious trouble. Gutted they took Bowler off - he is absolutely dreadful, but pleased when Magennis came on as he is as equally dreadful.

They do an 'as it stands' table during games.

Yes @NapaAddick. During the match they show the "As it stands" table reflecting the play taking place.

Brilliant - a fitting tribute to the first match without Seb for many years.
    We needed those points.

Massive result for your lot today. Another win and a draw, or even two or three draws and I reckon you’re safe. Bar Barnsley, all the teams below you are dire and won’t pick up much between now and the end of the season.
Not a massive fan of Bowyer, but if he keeps you up this season, after all he’s had to endure off the pitch, then fair play to him. Huge achievement. It’ll make a good book one day.
Look forward to locking horns on the 3rd of July. Although there probably won’t be much riding on it, just bragging rights (and the charity bets I had with a few on here).
Here’s just praying that lot in claret and blue join us down here next season.
     All the best lads

Looking forward to it ... and you just know we will win because we can’t be there.
