Hemed should be on Margate beach giving rides to the children
15:18 on the stream: Hemed at the near post expertly back flicks Cullen's corner with his head towards the net. Jason Pearce bundles in anything in his path to make absolutely sure.
Rarely, given the importance of this match, have I been so pleased to be proved so wrong!
Hemed and Morgan, two 'controversial' players, made all the difference for me aided by Pratley in particular but all contributed.
Lee Bowyer got it spot on today with substitutions and we, for the most part, looked like we wanted it more than them and got our just reward.
Massive result for your lot today. Another win and a draw, or even two or three draws and I reckon you’re safe. Bar Barnsley, all the teams below you are dire and won’t pick up much between now and the end of the season.
Not a massive fan of Bowyer, but if he keeps you up this season, after all he’s had to endure off the pitch, then fair play to him. Huge achievement. It’ll make a good book one day.
Look forward to locking horns on the 3rd of July. Although there probably won’t be much riding on it, just bragging rights (and the charity bets I had with a few on here).
Here’s just praying that lot in claret and blue join us down here next season. All the best lads
Either that or stripy nigels get dragged down somehow. I wouldn't say 2 wins would be enough I reckon 51 points total so 9 points from a possible 24 in our remaining games should see us home and hosed.
That would be a dream but those smug ****’s are safe. No point getting our hopes up.
I genuinely don’t think you’ll need anything near that points total. Where do you see the likes of boro, hull or Luton getting the points to catch you if you pick up another few points? Boro and hull are beyond bad and Luton are too far behind. They’ll get a few points but not enough to catch you if you get a few more points b
I dunno, the league’s a real bastard this year. Every time you think someone has been cut loose they win 2 in quick succession and change the landscape. I could see Hull finishing bottom the way Luton and Barnsley pick up points. I think we need another 9 minimum
Great win but blimey, Hull were poor. Really struggle to see them winning another game this season.
Maybe the break has come at just the right time for us. Instead of struggling to put a team together, Bowyer now has the injured players back. Surely with only 8 games to go, they can stay fit for that?
But just echo what others have said. Why, oh why can we never get a second goal and kill games off? Instead we always seem to drop deep and invite pressure. Today Hull were so poor we comfortably got away with it but against better sides we will be inviting trouble.
But we didn’t drop deep. We kept a high line that never fell back into the penalty area. They had one shot and could not get round the back and were left to punt it long in the hope someone got on the end of it. We were comfortable because we played well. Perfect away performance, great defending, good fitness levels.
Considering the importance of the game, impressive. Well done Bows and the boys.
Staying up is still going to be tough but I think Luton and Hull might have already gone. It’s going to be Barnsley, Boro, Hudds and us. Can’t see Stoke or Wigan getting pulled in. Five points start over Barnsley but they are in excellent form. Are we better or as good as those three ?

12 points behind you ... you never know where we might end out
Thank you. Been very preoccupied with family health issues. Mom is in home hospice and has perhaps hours left. Was at her side til 2am this morning. Been a rollercoaster for a while so did not have much time to post.
California has has quite the Covid lockdown compared to some states and my winery has been my focus when mom has not.
But I just HAD to wake up early to follow this match.
Sorry to hear that Napa. Hope she goes well, however long it takes.

Sorry to hear that Napa. Thoughts are with you at this difficult time.
Don’t be tempted to look too far ahead. Today was great step in the right direction but it was only one step. Many twists and turns to come, with very little to choose between the teams fighting the drop, both in terms of quality and points on the board. This one will run down to the wire.

Thought we started off nervy and were struggling to get a foothold in the game. Then Morgan played two or three delicious passes that seemed to bring us to life and gave the whole team confidence. Always knew the lad was special, but he seems to have lost a pound or two, and demonstrated today that he has the commitment and dedication to go with his undoubted talent.
Morgan no doubt started today because he impressed Bowyer in training.

So sorry to hear that Napa. Good to see you on here again. My thoughts to you and your Mum. I hope the team can bring you some pleasure.
I just hope as a result today that we continue on this front foot
Been saying for three months that I felt we'd be fine because we're better at having to chase a position rather than protecting them
We're now back into the latter and whilst today wasnt exactly a perfect attacking performance that we've seen from Bowyer we were certainly better going forward than compared our setup prior to lockdown
Just hope that as a result of climbing out of relegation; Bowyer doesnt now think: "right lets protect what we've got"
Instead should be going into the Queens Park Rangers game as an opportunity to close the gap on them, Sheffield Wednesday etc. rather than nervously looking behind us again
You'd hope that preparation for next Saturday will be easier as Bowyer actually has a game to prepare for
Also credit to Danny Murphy if he's still working in the background!! - From all the games I've seen, ours was one of the fewest which had players going down even with cramp etc.

Pleased that McGeady and Hemed had decent games. Good all round ‘team’ performance - and that’s what proper Charlton sides gave always been about - greater than the sum of it’s parts. Enjoying a few snifters imaging I’m on on a train home from Hull. Proper Charlton :-)

Amusing that the Yorkshire Post misspells our name both in the headline, and the web address!
