Locks and Pearce absolutely immense. Oshi did well after a shakey start. Solly who?
Hull truly awful though. I said before that if they lose today they won’t get out of the bottom three and that performance confirmed it for me. They look OK in defence, but look league 1 in every other position.
Massive result for your lot today. Another win and a draw, or even two or three draws and I reckon you’re safe. Bar Barnsley, all the teams below you are dire and won’t pick up much between now and the end of the season.
Not a massive fan of Bowyer, but if he keeps you up this season, after all he’s had to endure off the pitch, then fair play to him. Huge achievement. It’ll make a good book one day.
Look forward to locking horns on the 3rd of July. Although there probably won’t be much riding on it, just bragging rights (and the charity bets I had with a few on here).
Here’s just praying that lot in claret and blue join us down here next season. All the best lads
Either that or stripy nigels get dragged down somehow. I wouldn't say 2 wins would be enough I reckon 51 points total so 9 points from a possible 24 in our remaining games should see us home and hosed.
That would be a dream but those smug ****’s are safe. No point getting our hopes up.
I genuinely don’t think you’ll need anything near that points total. Where do you see the likes of boro, hull or Luton getting the points to catch you if you pick up another few points? Boro and hull are beyond bad and Luton are too far behind. They’ll get a few points but not enough to catch you if you get a few more points b
Well how good was that!! We could, and should, have won by more, we created some excellent chances. Can only remember Dillion making 2 saves of note, 1 in each half. Every player 'stepped up' and I cant fault anyone of them!! There seems a new 'unity' among them and If we can build on this, then I believe we will stay up....next week is another huge game.....3 more points and another 'together' performance will be on the menu I believe!! COYR's
A traumatic few months off the pitch preoccupied with administration, loss of contracted players, probable relegation and playing kids in league 1 next season with ongoing transfer embargo. Then Bowyer and the lads pull that out of nowhere really. Fantastic
Great 3 points against the poorest team we have played all season. Derby were poor at the valley but we were brilliant that day with Conor Gallagher excellent.
Morgan had a skillful 60 minutes, and Hemed had his best game for Cafc. McGeady and Matthew's used their experiences, and everyone else's battled including Bonne who wasn't sharp but still gave everything for the cause.
Other than messing up two set pieces Josh Cullen was immense and was MOM.
If we can play Hull every week we will stay up. Bonne, Hemed and Aneke need to step out of the shadow of the departed striker.
The squad need to stay fit; which will be unusual for Charlton.

12 points behind you ... you never know where we might end out
Huge result. Had no confidence in that starting lineup, but happy to be proved completely wrong. We have some winnable home games, Reading & QPR (think Wigan will be tough) and 2 wins may be enough.
Okay this is weird... when I checked the table at HT, it showed us already with 42 points. On BBC and Sky. Do they update the table DURING matches based on the scores? They never do that in sports here. I kept looking at the table and thinking... the match is not over, how are we in 19th?
Workmanlike performance but deserved 3 points. I cannot see Hull surviving - very, very poor.
Albie brilliant, Doughty scary with his pace, Pearce and Lockyer rocks, Deji did well at full-back, Cullen the class act, and Pratley is a total monster.
One step nearer to safety - end the season now!
Can’t say I thought Deji did well at full back. Heart in mouth as he got skinned repeatedly in the first half although he does add some quality going forwards.
Aneke really impressed me when he came on, looks twice as fast and many times better delivery.
Not that killer instinct from Hemed yet in front of goal but fingers crossed as he looked better than I’ve seen an all.\\
Was it a drag back/reverse pass from McGeady that then Deji crossed and Hemed and Bonne both missed by fractions, that would have been a goal of the season contender if that had gone in.
We looked nervy at times but played some really good football. Obviously happy with the result and hope it gets us going again...
Next up, QPR, Cardiff, Millwall. Get a few points from those be feeling a bit less need to watch games while sitting on the toilet.
Looking at the remaining fixtures I'm sure that another 10 points will do it. The bottom 3 plys Huddersfield and Boro all have to play each other and they cant all win. Hull looked doomed and the players seem to know it. We can win three more games... We won today and that is a lovely feeling.
Not spectacular but comfortable in the end. Hull were poor, we will face much sterner tests. We need to get that second goal to calm the nerves and should have had at least two if not three today.

Lyle going may have contributed towards the unity
The tweet that all those out of contract except you-know-who have committed to the club for the reminder of the season was a much needed positive prior to the match. I thought, what with the off field shenanigans over the last three months along with our talismanic forward ( he who shall not be named ) also going on strike, might take its toll on player morale. Oh how ( happily ) I was proved wrong.
Some positive performances today: Morgan looked quality, Hemed far more like the player we were hoping for, McGeady just a little off the pace, rather than a mile off, Mathews very solid.
But I just wish we could hang on to the ball better.
Great win but blimey, Hull were poor. Really struggle to see them winning another game this season.
Maybe the break has come at just the right time for us. Instead of struggling to put a team together, Bowyer now has the injured players back. Surely with only 8 games to go, they can stay fit for that?
But just echo what others have said. Why, oh why can we never get a second goal and kill games off? Instead we always seem to drop deep and invite pressure. Today Hull were so poor we comfortably got away with it but against better sides we will be inviting trouble.
Great result and thanks everyone for the updates. Forgot how stressful these Saturdays can be with constantly refreshing the internet and worrying about those last few minutes!

I agree, I think 7 is enough. 2 wins and a draw, or 1 win and 4 draws. It’s possible but we’re not a very good side so not quite home yet.
Great result, I thought we were ok but nothing special. Hull are so bad they made us look decent. But we showed the grit and determination that we have become accustomed to under Bowyer. They are vital qualities in a team fighting relegation so we have a fighting chance.
Thoroughly enjoyed that (after the first two mins). Played some nice football at times, everyone played their part and we could have got more goals. Struggle to believe the Sky stats that had them beating us on practically everything. 38% possession. Really? Luckily, it's goals that win games and there are no doubts about that.
Didnt watch it on iplayer so had the updates from Kammy, the CAFC twitter (via Golfie jnr) & you's on here.
Another nervy 70 mins but a win's a win. I called it a few days ago but I think Morgan could be our star player as he has an excellent eye for a pass. As many have said already, we really need to bury teams & get the 2nd & 3rd goals. It would also help our goal difference & like last season that could be crucial factor at the end of the day.
I can see us winning another 3 or 4 games, although after next Saturday we have 3 really tough ones so I'm hoping we can still be above the drop line after we have played Brentford. But the table looks a lot better tonight than it has done for the past 3 months.
Thought we started off nervy and were struggling to get a foothold in the game. Then Morgan played two or three delicious passes that seemed to bring us to life and gave the whole team confidence. Always knew the lad was special, but he seems to have lost a pound or two, and demonstrated today that he has the commitment and dedication to go with his undoubted talent. Special mentions also to Hemed, McGeady and Mathews who had probably their best games for us so far. Pearce has his critics, and isn't the most elegant footballer, but in games such as this, and at Wembley, he always steps up and puts in a captains performance.

Need to take that bit more time in the box but couldve been 5!
Hemed impressed and Morgan bi
QPR should not be feared and a week off for more fitness can't help.
Oshi terrified me and I hope Purrington is there next week but in Bowyer we trust because nobody saw that teansheet today!

Terrific little player.
morgan has come on. I was concerned that he was playing but he proved me wrong.

Ive missed watching Charlton win. Everyone enjoy the rest of the weekend. Sebbo always thinking about you. I know you’ll be celebrating our win today.
