Bad news for Newcastle, with Wilson already out injured now both Almiron and Saint-Maximin are out until April. The 3 of them account for a huge majority of their goals.
This will be United's 7th 0-0 of the season and 3rd consecutive match with that score.
No doubt they will try to play exactly the same way against City on Sunday and that would be considered a massive result by them - keeps them in the challenge for a Champions League place and stops City's run of consecutive wins. There was at one point money available to back that score on Sunday at 18.0 on Betfair (and there is still a small amount at 16.5) which looks quite big given those circumstances!

The entertainers.
The reverse fixture against City was, of course, 0-0 too
Somewhat amazingly, United have scored more goals than any other team bar City and have had more goals in total in their games bar Leeds.

Their goals scored is helped by having scored 9 v Southampton, 6 v Leeds and 4 v Newcastle. 19 in just 3 games. But then only 34 in the remaining 24 games.
Yeah but can they do it on a wet Tuesday night in Stoke?
I'm sure that if they can win 5-0 at West Brom on a cold and wet Tuesday then Stoke should hold no fears for them!
Even more remarkable is the form of Stones alone and his influence on the rest of the team - he's played 23 games this season and City have won 22 of them with the only one they didn't win was the 0-0 draw with Man United. They've let in just 4 in those 23 matches and he's scored that many alone. Will be great to see if he can perform for England at that level because he has to be a certainty to start.
Stones has been superb but it's Dias who has transformed City and brought Stones' game on. He's ridiculously good for someone who's still only 23. Portugal are going to be very strong at the Euro's, him, Cancelo, Guerreiro, Bernardo Silva, Bruno Fernandes, Jota, Joao Felix and Ronaldo.
City have conceded 17 goals in 27 games. 5 of those came in their defeat to Leicester when they had Ake and Garcia at centre back.
Agree. Dias' signing sort of came in under the radar a bit in the summer. I get the feeling his quality and the speed in which he's become first choice has surprised even City. There's not a lot of depth in top quality centre backs at the highest level around at the moment but he's got the potential to be one of the best.
You're probably right as he wasn't even their first choice. They wanted Koulibaly from Napoli but were priced out as Napoli wanted somewhere close to 90m.
A blessing in disguise really as he's 30 this summer, but Dias could be at City for a decade.

Point taken but then top scorers City have scored 22 in 5 and 34 in 22 which isn't too far divorced from that.

Plus both Stones and Laporte are still only 26
That's the thing, Laporte and Dias in particular could be such a good partnership, for a good few years.
If they replace Aguero well, City could be very difficult to beat for a while.
How can you go from a club record 68 home games unbeaten (which included at one point 24 wins in a row) to then go and lose 5 in a row (another club record).

Sublime to the ridiculous.
Found this interesting back in September and seems spot on now in terms of the predictions that Liverpool would tail off etc:

Sublime to the ridiculous.
Couldn't possibly be due to the fact they've had half their squad out with injury this season?
Anyone thinking its anything other than that is mad.
Comments
only cos they must have lost a Monday night live match at some point in that period .
I wonder how many midweek league games they’ve played in that time
The 3 of them account for a huge majority of their goals.
They'll be dancing in the streets of Fulham.

It's 37 games.

All the while scoring in just 3 of those games.
What a boring team, but annoyingly effective. If only they had CBs like Pearce and Deji.
Absolutely love it.
Better than the Premier League Champions
Can you imagine if a pandemic stopped them about two wins away from their first title in 30 years and then they finished the mid-table the year after?
You'd hear the sobbing, wailing and foot stamping from here.

We had about 90% of our lot missing last season.
