Very sad to read of this. Thoughts and prayers with his family and friends. I have every respect for someone who has given up their time to do something for the good of club, and the good of us. RIP
Very very sad news. Steve was a lovely bloke and will be sadly missed by all that knew him. My condolences to his family and many friends at this very sad time. Another taken far too soon. RIP Steve.
I remember being at fans' meetings at The Valley some years back and thought him to be very knowledgeable, reasoned and a good man to have on your side.He fought many a good fight for the fans and will be missed. Very sad news and taken far too soon. My deepest condolences to his family. ROP Steve.
Ridiculous the amount of fans we're sadly losing at the moment - Rest in peace Steve, like Seb and Chris, its horribly sad that you wont get to see this coming revolution!!
Steve was a really lovely bloke , who had a gentle way of dealing with things, knew him indirectly years back through my sister, thoughts with the family at this difficult time.
Just so sad. I got to know Steve in the last few years through the CAST board. It's fair to say we had some robust debates, but only because of a shared passion for Charlton and desire to do the right thing. It's only a matter of weeks ago that he stepped back - at the time we thought temporarily.
As @Pico writes, it is all the more tragic that we have lost him just at a time when the club and fans look like uniting again. Steve much preferred conciliation and co-operation to protest and would have been back in his element with an owner like Sandgaard.
My heart goes out to the family and Steve's many close friends.
2020 can't be over soon enough. What a desperate year.
