Ronnie Schwartz (Page 73 - contract cancelled)

For whatever reason it is obvious he is being frozen out. He's probably on a decent contract and won't want to give that up lightly.0

So Schwarz has an injured calf and will be out for a couple of months.
If I were cynical I'd be thinking they've run out of excuses as to why he won't be featuring for us and as we have no takers, he's developed a mystery injury that will put him out until the next window is about to open.19 -

A - He doesn't want to be here.Or
B - We don't want him here.1 -
Gonna be a big miss10

Once a narrative is out there it’s very difficult for anyone to start believing the truth of what is allowed to be put in the public domain as possible.
It’s been frustrating and disappointing for everyone, but none more so than it has been for Schwartz himself.
If people think he is not injured, they couldn’t be more wrong. Nothing cynical about this.
He moved to UK without any family, living on his own with no chance of socialising because of restrictions. The players tried as best as they could to help him out and be a family for him here but it isn’t the same and they could only do so much themselves.
He went home during the off season and had personal reasons why he was allowed to return back late.
As far as we are now aware, he has family here.
It’s taken a while to get some fitness and when he is building it up (it’s difficult when a lot of your pre-season is when the season has already begun) he plays half a game and has suffered a calf injury.
As far as I am aware he has recently been in a boot. He is now going to be recovering, build up the strength in the calf, and get then fit.
But none of that falls in with the narrative that has been created. And maybe communication could’ve been better at times, but maybe it couldn’t have been as what right do we have to know the ins and outs of someone else’s private life just because they’re a footballer?
I really feel for him and hope that somehow he can turn his career at Charlton around and change people’s opinions of him. Unfortunately, that can only happen when he’s on the pitch. So the narrative will persist for a while longer yet.36 -

The phrase "club legend" is often over used, but in this case its very apt. Thank you for your service Sir Ronnie1

Just a bit disappointing from both Adkins and Jackson if so really that they didnt mention something along those likes post the U23 game (Kids need to play) and then the Crawley game (We're not freezing him out).
Will always understand why things might be kept quiet, and even had it been said straight away am sure people would have looked for a narrative, but equally the club have potentially made it worse on this occasion.4 -
Sage, if that's what you're telling us then I believe you.
When was this game he played and got injured and do you know why everything has been oh so mysterious surrounding Ronnie?

But, hey, what's new ?
Hope you recover quickly, Ronnie & feature sooner rather than later in a "proper" match.
( Especially as our oldest grandson is wearing your signed, sponsored shirt to games...." Hey, are you Ronnie ???" )0 -
I don’t know whether the injury was in the game he played or whether it was in the resulting days after. But he played 45 mins for the U23s in August.
I don’t know the reason why the club has been as quiet with this situation because it has at times only fuelled the narrative that has been created.
He has suffered though and he is injured. And ultimately, it’s Ronnie that I feel sorry for.14 -

It really is unfathomable, even if Ollie is/has been unwell.
Thanks anyway.3 -

17th August was the 45 mins that Schwartz played against Dulwich.2 -

The situation is farcical, indeed for both sides
Comes back from Denmark unfit. Gets injured and NOTHING is said by the club for a month since it allegedly happened. Now we learn he will be out for 2 months
He was given a squad place, and will be injured until near the window. Meanwhile, while I don't especially rate Dempsey, he is in limbo now, unable to play as he's not part of our submitted squad as he's overage2 -
I really hope his mental health and physical health can improve so he can get on with the last few years of his career.0

The Club seem adamant to make out that our injury record has improved. That's the only narrative I question; one being imposed on us.0
-
One thing I don't get. We signed Blackett Taylor on a short term deal and it was lauded what a great bit of business it was. If he performs he gets a better deal. Simple.
Why then Schwartz, unproven at this level, hit the jackpot when he rolled up?0 -

Even I'm losing faith he'll do it here.0

Schwartz, just like a lot of players before him is absolutely taking the piss out of the club and the fans. I bet he has no trouble picking up his wages every Friday. Did he come on a recommendation from Thomas? If he did we are in big trouble. Bowyer did not fancy him and Adkins does not fancy him. Nor did any managers in the transfer window. He will never play another game for us. Get rid of him now and get the football people to sign a proper striker.4

All this would be yesterdays news if from day one the truth was said. It seems that we have finally, to paraphrase Pol Pot, entered "day one" and we can now put it to rest until we are told that he is "back out on the grass" and ready to feature soon5 -
