But is it a sign of how Technology has changed since 1992 what with the introduction of Internet Forums etc.

My point is in 1991/92 we finished 7th under Curbs and Gritt

The following year we had a period were we got 14-points from seventeen games, ended up 12th in the League

This season we're going through a period of 18-points from seventeen games

Should Curbs and Gritt have gone?
Curbs and Gritt were in the Championship and building. Gritt did end up going! Not sure what your point is there.
Well not really as we went backwards in those two years, that wouldnt be acceptable from fans now, it really wouldnt

Parkinson got sacked because we finished 4th and were then sitting 4th the following year

Bowyer is in League One and building

Unfortunately for Lee he's just come off the back of a Championship relegation where he was betrayed by owners and players

As for Gritt, he didnt leave for another two seasons
    What is Lee building exactly?
  • Lee put himself under pressure with the team selection tonight - looked odd then didn’t work.

Dropping (... resting?!) Millar with DJ ready to come in on Sat looked wrong from the start.

    Desperate for Innis back.
DJ & Smith have played all season for Swindon so fitness was not an issue, baffling how they did not play especially based on the Swindon fans comments.

DJ wasn't registered in time. Smith should have started.

DJ not allowed to play this one

    DJ wasn’t signed in time.
  • Can anyone offer any justification as to why Millar was relegated to the bench?

Stick with him. We've had too many managers over the last 10 years and the club needs stability. It looks like we have it with TS so let's back him and build something. THIS WILL NOT HAPPEN OVERNIGHT. We had our best periods under Curbs after giving him time.
No point sticking with a mediocre manager.
Was Bowyer a mediorce manager when we went up two years ago?

Bowyer said he had tight hammies after the last game and can't do Saturday-Tuesday every week... Or something similar...ignoring it's been Tuesday-Tuesday this week.

DJ wasn’t signed in time has to be by midday the day before I think.

Was you saying that two years ago or even at the start of this season? He's not a shit manager we are just having a shit season. Is he to blame? Of course but he's also let down by the players almost every week. Time is needed

Look at the level the majority of that squad is playing at now. You could probably argue that we should have done better then go up in the play offs with that squad.

Its a thing that irks me when people try and compare this squad to that one, like it's some glowing endorsement that Bows got the best out of a rag tag bunch (just like the Accrington manager is doing now actually) when let's be honest that squad was far to good for league one.

It's probably a point for a different thread rather than judging him now, but I have wondered recently whether our promotion looks less impressive over time, not going up automatically with a team which had the talent of Aribo, Cullen, Bielek, Taylor, Grant with what they have done since... Obviously could also say he got the best out of them to improve, which is valid too.
  • Would have made the decision after the Rochdale game. Think it would have been the time to make the decision. However, didn’t happen and I respect TS decision for sticking with Bowyer. Would be shocked if Bowyer didn’t last the season.

Robbo went 4 wins in 19 before resigning in 2018. Bowyer is now 4 wins in 17.

I've never thought he was a particularly good manager.

Powell had two wins in 19... Although that wasnt his team so not surprising he struggled

No team is entitled to get promoted but that season we assembled a good team and went up. This year it hasn't worked out. Managers get things wrong. I believe to be successful the club needs to get some of our old culture back. He needs to rip this squad up and start again in my opinion and he probably knows that himself

Bowyer has come off a relegation where negativity in the final games cost us the one point we needed to stay up. Yes, he got us up but lets put it this way. I don't know Bowyer personally, what I know is how he sets up his team and what players say about him and playing for him. And indeed what he says himself.

Now I defy anybody to say the Bowyer we have seen from January last year to now is the same person we saw before that. Of course people might say, don't be stupid, of course he was the same person. I would say Bowyer as a player was a mixture of sublime and a total knob. It was reasonable to assume he had matured out of the latter, but we are seeing he hasn't.

We can blame the players for being shit all we like, but he dug out three players publicly that have all gone. Two to higher placed clubs. I know for a fact that players at the club were/are unhappy of his treatment of those players. That contributes to bad confidence along with poor results. I think he has lost it and the signs were there a while back and I call them when I see them. None of this hoping they go away nonsense!

Powell hit the ground running next season so it was forgotten about by September. Question is what happens if we don’t hit the ground running next season under Bowyer? Would be starting the season under huge pressure if we complete collapse until the end of the season and finish 11th etc.

Hahahahhaha you guys gave it a week!
We know he’s your love child but you can’t defend it any more surely?
I just think give him until the end of the season.

On the post-match thread I called what I thought were mistakes.

He even said tonight the squad is good enough so if they don’t make play offs that’s a lot of pressure on him.

I think the squads good enough but there are still some individual errors.

I’m disappointed he didn’t call out Watson for not clearing the ball, but people here don’t want him calling players out so..
He don’t call out senior pros.
  • 23 wins from 72 games.

Also known as worse than Karl Robinson's record with us 27 in 74.
  • To be this far into a season and our players play like strangers it is really not a good endorsement for the way Lee is going about things. We have three sections of a team, defence, midfield and attackers, and none of them are cohesive as individual units,so how the hell are we going to see a cohesive team. Far too much tinkering for far too long, I do wonder if the two cb’s had stayed fit whether he would of still cocked about with them!!!. I’m so frustrated at the moment because I’m not thinking like some in believing that our players aren’t very good, maybe a bit confused!!.
