Stewart's 37 off 33 was as instrumental in us winning as were Robinson and Muyeye's knocks. Last night I thought that Stevens would bat that way and perhaps he would have done had Stewart been the one that had been dismissed.
Amazing finish - barely feels like the same season we endured for over half the summer. Doesn't feel like Kent either. Chasing down 373 in the final innings is a great piece of cricket. Congratulations guys you did us proud.
Kent have had a cracking last few weeks of the season. A shame we started so badly
It has been terrific but might it be because we have been playing the five "worst" counties since the restart ?
To be fair we didn't have a settled side at the start of the season. We went, in because of injuries, with just four front line bowlers that included Cummins (6 wickets @ 101.00 apiece this season) and Klaassen who isn't a red ball bowler. Then we had the Covid debacle against Sussex where only Robinson and O'Riordan of today's side ended up playing.
That early season form in the CC followed by the reserves and beyond having to fulfil the Royal London fixtures were a nightmare and the T20 form was probably the making of us. I would go so far as to say that had we not done so well in that then serious questions would have been asked of Matt Walker and I am really pleased that we have because he is a genuinely good guy.
Onwards and upwards for Kent. The future is exciting providing we learn from what happened this season. As they say, success breeds success and let's hope that we can produce a side for those of us old enough to remember to rival the teams of the 70s that included the likes of Underwood, Knott, Asif Iqbal, Shepherd, Woolmer, Alan Ealham, Luckhurst, Denness, Johnson etc etc
I see that Alex Blake requires a surgery and a pin on his elbow. He is very much the forgotten man as he doesn't play red ball and missed out on Saturday but hope he is back next season and in some destructive form too!

a dozen to win
2 to win
2 to win.
Fantastic effort from the boys following last Saturday's success and our dismal start to the County Championship season
Will.
Do.
Thanks for coming Middlesex, now bugger you off.
We'll keep on fighting to the end
what a great run chase
What character, yet again !
Can't express how proud I am of them especially in a weird season when our 50 over matches were reduced to a farce due to the You Know What.
Winners one & all !
( Dancing wellies now in mothballs ready for next Spring )
Back to the footie now 🙄
