Lee might not be the man for the job. But the disrespect towards a man who showed great loyalty towards us when he could've easily walked is shocking. Short memory's.
Early days yet but I have to say my first impressions of Jaiyesimi are not great. He scarcely beat a man, his passing was wayward and I'm convinced Burton's first goal was down to him switching off and letting their player run past him and get a cross in. If we've got rid of Williams for him, I don't see we have come out of this stronger.
As I say early days and he needs to play in his proper position - not in some strange deep lying winger role miles behind a loan striker - and in a team full of more confidence before we can properly pass judgment but I hope there is a lot more to his game than he showed tonight.
As much as I love and respect Lee Bowyer I am afraid tonight's performance was simply indefensible - where do you even start with that 70 minutes of absolutely pathetic disorganization?
Firstly, let's remember folks we are playing Burton Albion, no disrespect to them but we have resources they can only dream of and we should be putting them away at home not getting completely outplayed for 70 minutes.
Secondly, its just looks to me that Bowyer will never, ever learn when it comes to letting the team find a settled formation.
In our last home game we had a 4-3-1-2, we then win away with a 4-4-2 and tonight? Well, why don't we play FIVE defenders and set up in a 3-4-3 just for a nice change?
Well, Lee, the reason we shouldn't do that is because if you keep switching players and formations you are going to get what you got tonight - complete f*******g chaos.
We are playing Burton at HOME and we play five defenders? Seriously?
Now, let's talk about the attack because if anyone can work out what the hell Bowyer was trying to do there tonight then they are a better man than me.
In Chuks Aneke we have a bloke who missed the last match through suspension so HAS to be completely fresh and raring to go - he has scored one goal every two games this season - so let's leave him on the bench until we are 2-1 down shall we? No wonder Chuks looked pissed off when he came on.
Stuckley did well but if you are playing 4-3-3 then those other two players must be strikers that look to get in behind NOT wingers like Millar and Jaiyesimi who want the ball to feet because the problem you are going to have is that with Stockley having no pace you have no way of getting in behind the defence.
Goals win games and by leaving Aneke and Schwartz on the bench you are leaving a lot on the plate of Stockley as well as he played because Millar and Jaiyesimi are simply not proven goal scorers at this level.
Defensively we were a shambles once again and could easily have conceded three goals at home again Oshilaja was one of our better players and never hid but as a unit we were all over the place and always looked likely to make a mistake.
The reality is very simple, all successful teams are based on organisation and team-work which is formed by creating good combinations through the team between your two centre-halves, your central midfield pair, your full-back and wide-midfielders and then your forwards.
We have absolutely no chance of achieving any of those combinations with the team being shuffled around so often in terms of personnel AND formations - it is getting beyond ridiculous now.
I mean, just look at how we played when we went 2-1 down - what exactly was the plan? All we did was hoof it long for Stockley and when we did that there were no runners getting in behind anyway, it was schoolyard football at best.
I really hate to say it but I think this season is now well and truly done, we are a million miles away from where we were when we got promoted under Powell or Bowyer in our last two promotions, both those teams were well organised and resilient and we are absolutely all over the shop and getting worse by the game.
Sorry Lee, I think it's time to do the right thing and walk away before you ruin your reputation permanently.
How we not won that god knows .. the fact Burton were still in it at HT gave them a massive lift ... first half we were good new system looked promising .. no good blaming the manager there nothing he can do about a wonder save and two efforts hitting the woodwork .. then having a good goal ruled out ... LB got it right tonight .... second half Burton got their tactics spot on high pressing which forced us to go long and stopped us playing through midfield ....
as much as Stockley offers he has changed our style of play to much long ball now which is not helping players like DJ and Millar around him ...
On Saturday go back to Aneke and Schwartz play the ball to their strengths on the floor behind the defence at the moment these two are suffering ..
You can’t blame defence tonight .. first goal was down to DJ not doing his defensive duties and the second was just another long range effort that took deflection ....
Stockley hasn't changed us we just lack confidence and ideas, we should be crossing the ball not lumping it forward.

You have conveniently ignored the occasions Burton hit the woodwork and Amos' wonder save, and their domination for 70 minutes. Every team presses us high currently because we can't deal with it.
I thought we lost it today when Shinnie hit the bar. That was the second time we had hit the woodwork at that point and a team devoid of confidence knows the script from there. To be honest, we all knew too didn't we? That is how these things happen. When you expect the worst in football it happens far more often than when you are confident and expect the best.
Just a simple change, even if it is a temporary one can change that dynamic. There are so many examples of this in football.
To start with while Bowyer may have been happy with the starting formation, at half time Curbs, Morts and Minto were all unsure, as ended up with wingers, wingbacks AND an overlapping Deji going down the left, with a result that the wingers were pushed inside instead of playing in their natural position, with space to run onto. Plus defensive uncertainty YET AGAIN, with the 1st Burton goal coming directly from players leaving responsibility to a team mate
BUT the real mess yet again was in the second half when we started making subs, as our shape went out of the window. Stockey and Chuks going wide to cross to themselves, Millar struggling in the hole, Schwartz coming on and vanishing, Maatsen coming on and being far less effective than Purrington or indeed Oshilaja down the left , Smith coming on for another of those pointless 5 minute cameos surplus loan players get...
Burton have "worse" players than us. That their 1st goal came from a non league striker they signed 3 days ago, highlights this. But they all knew what they were doing, how to counter us and how to exploit our weaknesses. Really impressive how JFC JFH has come in, organised them and maximised their potential, he showed Bowyer up badly tonight
At work so luckily missed it, knew we lost when at 21.00 lots of my engineers were keen to tell me the results (look forward to giving them their jobs tomorrow)...Knew the inevitable was coming...Thought it couldn't get worse than recent matches, sure the last time we won at home we were there.

F***ing turncoat, no wonder he's not in the side at the moment.
Other than 20 mins utter shite. Again. A performance and result that will get a maager sacked if ever there was one.
Sorry Lee, but we can;t keep on letting you get out managed. Its happening over and over again.
There is no sign of any improvement and things are gettng obviously worse as every game passes by.
Seems harsh for people to call for his head, but this has run its course. His body language is awful, the involvement on teh sidelines of his coaching staff non-existant.
All this nonsense abut Curbishley? Really? What is this obssession our fanbase seem to have with looking back at the past. If Bowyer is sacked I would suggest that a clean slate is required and the back room staff go with him. I would like to see someone come in who has no baggage from the Roland and ESI era.
We had 23 points after 11 games and we now have 44 after 30 - our form has been really wretched. We're playing like a team in relegation form and it seems daft to write off the season.
We have lost twice to the bottom team aggregate 3 - 6. Every team is taking long shots and scoring so Amos is at fault because teams see it as worth while doing that.
I think Amos to blame for both those goals tonight. First one he should have come and claimed it. Second one he just flapped it into the net. I think Amos unnerves the defence because he is so indecisive. A couple of times tonight the defenders were shouting at Amos to come and get the ball and there was that time when Pearce had a go at him for failing to come out.
Lee might not be the man for the job. But the disrespect towards a man who showed great loyalty towards us when he could've easily walked is shocking. Short memory's.
When you say disrespect do you mean people calling for his removal? I haven’t seen anything other than people saying he should go, and that’s not being disrespectful.
I really don’t like the names being dished out to Bowyer. He not a prick or anything else. He needs to go but can’t we show a bit of class.
Hear hear. This is what is saddening me the most about this whole situation. What an awful thing to call a man who has dedicated himself to our club through some of it’s lowest years.
Absolutely. I want Bowyer gone but it’s not personal. The fella deserves a lot of plaudits for what he’s done for us.
I’m finding it really hard to relate to the modern game. The way that money has corrupted the game is awful, but the effect it has had on the way supporters’ think (talk and act) is truly tragic.
Managers have always been sacked. Alf Ramsey was sacked. Any Charlton manager who finishes in the bottom half of the 3rd division is likely to be sacked.
I don't think it's a modern problem. 20 years ago we would all be saying this in the pub, that's the only difference.
Saying that managers have always been sacked is ridiculous. I don’t mean to single you out, but it’s too great an example of exactly the point I’m making. That sentence means nothing. It’s a truism masquerading as insight. Of course manager’s have always been sacked. No one thinks that managers should die in the job. It’s the kind of thing we hear all the time and it’s because we talk Premier League speak more often than not.
Should Bowyer be fired? Should he resign? Maybe, maybe not. It’s something worthy of debate.
Sure, but my point is much more about how it’s discussed. Maybe thirty years ago we’d all be discussing it in the pub. But I guarantee, it’d be a level above the rubbish spouted these day. We can’t help ourselves to debate the subject with respect for everyone involved. That’s a modern problem.
It’s not looking back with rose-colored glasses. I know things weren’t better then. But the money in the game has put players, managers, and pundits on a pedestal. There’s such a gulf between us all, that we’ve decided that it’s perfectly normal to spout off our frustrations in any way we feel. And that’s different. And that’s a result of money in the modern game. It’s a game for bankers and financiers now. And we’ve let them corrupt us.
Bowyer stuck by this club and could do with some backing now that things aren’t going his way. I’m happy to debate whether that’s justified. I’d like to read people’s opinions. But there’s less and less of that to engage with. It’s invectives and vile. That’s what so much of “being a supporter” is now reduced to. And that’s tragic.
I think its more the language people are using when they say he should go that is coming across disrespectful at times

I know what you mean, but I think he probably should get the benefit tonight. The first was criminal not picking up the crosser and the second was a wicked deflection. I think a pub team would have an inquest about the first.
Other than 20 mins utter shite. Again. A performance and result that will get a maager sacked if ever there was one.

Always interested to hear who others have in mind as a replacement at this level.
Who would be your (and everyone else's) pick?
Serious question to everyone. Who would you like to see in charge next season?
I'll be surprised if Bowyer is sacked this week. He should have gone weeks ago, but I have an awful feeling he'll still be the manager when we play Blackpool. I doubt that anyone has been approached to take over as yet and the next managerial appointment is going to be absolutely vital to the future progress of CAFC over the next few years. No point in sacking Bowyer unless a real plan is in place, there's no place or point in a temporary/interim appointment

Sorry mate to many people have been disrespectful to Bowyer. Calling him all sorts of Anglo Saxon words to do with sex organs. To emphasis how much they want him out and how much they never wanted him As a manager he is struggling but the tools at hand are poor, and more fans should criticise the players as well.
Unfortunately I have reluctantly joined the frame of mind that Bowyer's time is up. I will never forget Doncaster at home in semis and of course Wembley. When we were riding high at the top part of the Championship.
Sadly things could not be more different and it has been this way for a while. As others have said, the body language tonight speaks volumes.
I love Bowyer as we all do and I hope he is always welcome and comes back in some regard, if the decision is made for him to go.
Despite the result, I still do not regret paying £10 for the stream on Valley Pass. I miss going to Charlton and seeing Sir Alan and Scotty Minto every home game is something to look forward to. I will therefore continue to pay and watch regardless of what happens on the pitch.
The result tonight was awful and performance generally was not good enough. Whatever happens, TS has my backing and Bowyer will always be a hero.

No I don't. I agree that he may not be the right person for the job.

Telling someone to “f**k off” is disrespectful, as is calling them a useless twat. Just two that I can remember tonight without going back through the pages. Plenty of disrespect on here. Understand the frustration, but maybe type it out, count to 10, then delete instead of post.

I think you're getting a football/money issue and social media issue totally mixed up.
Considering people air they views about everything in the same way over social media, its easy to see that it's not just a 'modern game money' issue, and just an issue that social media has allowed humans basically to act like the animals we are.
Did we play like shit for 30 minutes ? We hit the post 3 times, I have a goal disallowed
that was a Goal, and two or our defenders go to sleep and they Score a header. Ok no excuses we should have wiped the bottom team off the page and won 3-1, but how on earth can you blame all these events on Bowyer ? we just cannot win a home and we leak stupid Goals and I very much doubt we will get to the playoffs, but who is going to replace Bowyer ? Teams all know we need to score at least 2 goals not to lose and the team have to stop this happening and Bowyer is as good as anyone we can afford to manage this Club.
Have you not noticed the pattern yet?
Yes we cannot win at home ? Your point is ?
My point is, looking for excuses and claiming bad luck doesn't address the issue that fact is telling us.
I am not making excuses at all. And I was not claiming bad luck I saw the Game with my own eyes. The Fact you say is telling us ...........what ?? We cannot afford a top championship manager and Bowyer Is as good or better then anyone available for league one. We are not going down this season and I doubt we will end up in the top six also. but I would give Bowyer at least 7 more games to see 4 wins, and not just do a knee Jerk sacking !!
Bowyer going will not change the players being a disgrace and just not good enough they should be ashamed of themselves and have let themselves bows and us down with there performances of late
if he goes he goes a legend and great man still in my eyes and luckily a huge clear out of this dross in the summer either way !!!!

Don’t understand this logic. Bow needs replacing now. Certainly go through a proper recruitment process but give someone the temporary reigns for the remaining games. The club needs a lift not a drawn out agonising death of someone who I think the majority of Charlton supporters actually like.
