I spoke to someone involved in lower league recruitment this afternoon.
"Market is fucked, clubs offering pennies in the pound. Clubs won't know exactly where they are short until they sort their loans. If no one blinks clubs will go out of business and others will be fielding teams of kids. There will be a record number of unemployed players".26 -

He's literally just said that he's made the rumour up but apparently it's now the end of Madger Gomes. Oh well, better than Stone Cold Steve Austin eating a burger or debating whether Lee Bowyer staying too long was the reason we missed out on the play-offs19

It isnt rocket science is it. The agents and players are clinging on like grim death to try and get a similar deal to what they could have got 2 years ago. It isnt going to happen, the top players and top clubs then yes silly money still applies. Outside of that they need to get into the real world and I for one think that will be good for the game in the end. Clubs that have players currently on long contracts for high wages are going to be in dire shit imo. Sheffield Weds for one, they have kept quite a few players purely because they cant sell them at a price their agents will accept so have no choice but to keep them. Completely unsustainable21 -
