  • Probably one of the most wide open majors for me, i have a few:
    Rai
    Kim
    Molinari
    Bhatia
    V Perez
    Jason Day
all small ew mostly, on Rai and Kim a bit more, couple end of first round leaders : Bryson & Cam Smith.
Rory got a good chance here after recent near miss think it could go two ways, even no bet i'd love him to win, not sure on Scottie feels too short but hard to back against him (if odds were irrelevant)

    Am here now
    Grey skies
Little bit of rain in the air
Allegedly going to get worse in the afternoon
Anybody out before 10am could benefit

    Heart says McIlroy

My money has gone Fleetwood, Shauffler.  Long shot....Rose

If you don't mind me asking, how much are tickets ? very tempted to do this in the near future but not looked into it. Have a great day and hope the weather holds out for you, can see it getting quite bad over the weekend which adds to the lottery factor, looks ok this morning.

Done a few with Skybet, paying upto 12th place.
Rory, Lowrey, Fleetwood, Rose, Scottie, Xander, Mackintire, Aberg. All e/w
Did Scottie separately in their 'hotshots' market.
  • Rain coming down there now, forecast is poor, that'll make it interesting!
  • Tough out there.

    4 under might lead  tonight.

Rory could be well off the pace by then. Bryson might well as go home.

Amend that. Rory might as well get the train back with Bryson.
  • Did three each way bets (12 places) just before the off earlier.

    Justin Rose 110-1
    Ewen Ferguson 150s
    Richard Mansell 175s

    🤞🏻
  • Rory  :D
  • Sky coverage.

Been doing my head in their "new" way of showing players scorecards. Colours all over the place. Only standard one was red for a birdie. They even had blue for a par & grey for a bogey.

Looks like someone ine might have said something.....or maybe just the power of Sir Nick, because as soon as Faldo came on commentary they reverted back to the usual circles for birdies & squares for bogeys.

    And relax....

  • Backed Lowry @45/1 & McIlory this morning.
  • Woods stinking the place out but you just know we are going to see every single shot.
  • Just left the course. A fun day though wet and a bit chilly at times. Whoever had the brainwave to order Open-branded woolly bobble hats for sale, kudos!

Saw the lovely Justin Rose, out of sorts Rory, McKibbon and McIntyre. Also Dechambeau’s outrageous eagle at the 16th. Tough conditions for them today - makes it interesting!
  • Sky coverage as painful as ever young golfers out playing and finishing there rounds and we have to listen to more drivel on tiger woods and scheffler.

  • Currently leading….
  • We used to do similar Gary picking 4 players each from different odds groupings. Was good fun but we haven’t got the Excel geek you have and it’s died off over the last year. Can we add him to our group? 🤣

We put a score in each so next major can ask if we can widen the field. My mate is actually considering doing an app 🤣. The Olympics has been suggested but I don’t really know my track cyclists 🤣
  • Can't see who "Saunders" has backed.
  • The players that went out late yesterday/early today have had a massive overall advantage which makes the efforts of Rose (currently -3 after 14 with just one bogey for his 32 holes) even more commendable.

I wonder how many club golfers are taking comfort in the knowledge that they beat 124 every time they go out. You've got to feel sorry for the likes of poor Niemann and that 8 on a Par 3 that sent him from -1 to +4 in one hole.
  • Rose has been superb
  • I wouldn't even say these are tricky conditions. A tad windy but hardly gale force winds.
  • Rose has played superbly well! Just 1 bogey in 36 holes on that course is phenomenal golf!
  • McIlroy becoming embarrassing. Going to end up with a worse score than Tiger.
  • Not as bad as Iwasaki. +15 on the back 9!

    He's still got time!

From the sublime to the ridiculous 😉

They were £90.  I think more this year (a client buys me a ticket each year) and I've heard £120 for Portrush next year.

We've booked two twin rooms in Bangor (close by to Portrush) for 3 nights- Tuesday - Friday for a very reasonable £85 per night each.

Missed it last time as I was getting married.
