Weetabix save from their trialist keeper slow to get down then try’s to stop the shot with his wrong hand🤷♂️ . Still if you don’t shoot you don’t score, nice one Henry👍
Thoroughly enjoyable and some promising performances from a number of our youngsters, some of whom will probably feature in the Carabao Cup against AFC Wimbledon in four weeks time.
Went to the game. Nice pattern of play in the first half. Decent
passing and moving. Both wide men looked good as did the young centre
half - I would add that the Centre Half was not tested at all.
Second half a bit more disjointed.
A decent run out, but don't loose sight of the fa t that Welling were awful. Worst Wings team I have seen for a long time.
No idea what sort side Gillingham put out, but for reference Welling drew 3-3 with them over the weekend.
Clayden looks a prospect not just because of his directness and pace.
Because of his decision making when receiving the ball if the defender was too close he would look to exploit in behind and if there was space between him and the defender he look to receive to feet and either beat him down line or cut inside also released it quickly.
Morgan is just a class act just know when he has that quick scan looks up and picks his pass out that just cuts through. We need to play him in a 3 give him that freedom to be our playmaker and he will create a lot of chances.
Really impressed with Morgan, new Deji, Claydon and Oguntayo. Nice finish from DJ too. I know Welling are a non-league side but thought they were really poor, looked like a few blokes who looked a bit like sportsmen picked out from the local pub.
Overall a very good performance especially first half we played nice quick attacking football we looked impressive.. DJ great finish and the star of the night Charles Clayden ,we have found a real gem
Could have had more Clayden hit the bar ,Dempsey had a header saved and Stockley had a night to forget missing two open goals … second half Henry shot from outside the box scored our third and Welling keeper kept out Washington effort with an excellent flying save .. player by player rating First half 1-CM -6 never easy these games has never have much to do and tonight was different 2- Roddy 7 Decent performance tall lad looked a decent prospect 3- Purrington 8 very good linked up well with DJ 4- Dobson 8 excellent first viewing controlled mid always wanted the ball 5- Elerewe 8 looked a very good prospect do we need another centre half ? 6 - Pearce 9 the old man controlled everyone from the back excellent 7- DJ 8 caused them all sorts of problems very good goal 8-Dempsey 7 decent performance good squad member not sure a starter 9- Stockley 6 night to forget but he did see the funny side of it … 10-Morgan 8 hard working game from Morgan 11-Claydon 10 star of the night … already booked himself a place in the first team
Second half 1- CM 6 came out for 10 mins then was replaced by Harness but either keeper had a shot to save 2-Barker 7 looked very good 3- Oguntayo 8 looked very good 4- Powell 7 very tidy player 5- Famewo 7 bit rusty at first but grew into the game 6- Bakrin 9 the best player in the second half looked very assured 7- Henry 7 expected more from a player who is being trouted as a first team player but scored an excellent goal 8-Vennings 6 disappointing did not stand out at all 9-Davison 6 same as Vennings disappointing 10- Washington 7 decent 45 mins 11- Ghanbour 6 not sure got a lot of the ball but disappointing distribution

Washington his usual self and maybe a bit too much thought on curling that shot rather than smashing it in.
Powell clearly wanted to win.
Triallist 11 for Welling.... well what a dirty bastard.
That was quite a spicy game. Made it feel like a cup tie more than a friendly.
I did find Welling's moaning and diving captain funny on the touchline.
